We just went too the local Penske and asked how much it was too rent a tractor and 53 trailer! He said $125 a day plus 15 cpm for tractor and $40 plus 3 cpm for trailer for 24 hours! I was as shocked as you were, but I was glad they had one available to rent. Let's just hope that when I arrive in Bay City area I'm not as nervous as I am now? Thanks for the positive feedback "Big Duker". All I can say is that if I do not get a job out there it's going to be a long flight home and even harder explaining to the wifey why I did not pass!

See the deal here is everyone helping each other. We all get a bump in life, What is the saying? "Rising Tide raises All Ships"eastbound & down Thanks this. -
If you want to haul crude I know a few places are looking right now.
K-3BMI has a listing in the jobs section of the Victoria, TX paper.
Sun Coast has some ads up on billboards along HWY 87.
Schneider has a large ad in the Victoria paper.
I see Plains, Quality Carriers, Gold Spur, Palletized, and Martin at the places I go to load and unload.
I know for a fact that Schneider is bringing in more tanks and trucks from out of state to their Victoria account. Word is that Schneider will grow their overall business this year by almost 25% and much of the growth is coming from the energy segment. These facts tell me the job growth in this sector and area of the country is accelerating, demand for drivers will continue for some time to come, and wages will continue to be stable or rise.eastbound & down, starsonwindow and pathfinder1361 Thank this. -
Schneider will not help wages continue to be stable or rise. That's not their game. They have always been about getting any slug they can to fill a seat and put more in their own pocket. Same with FFE and other cheese eaters getting into patch. Shouldn't be too long before they cause some good fire or accident that gets national exposure.
