We had some extreme wind here last night around the Victoria, TX area. The local paper, The Victoria Advocate, even picked up one of the photos off my twitter feed.

This photo shows tanks damaged from the wind at the site where we pick up the crude...

Looks like job security for the guys who construct these things!

Rockdoctor, do you happen to know where the Schnedier yard (tankers) in Victoria is located? Or maybe it's the Schlumberger yard actually.....from what I hear, anyway. PS, thanks for the pics and the link to the Victoria Advocate, which was useful. Seems as though EFS (evergreen tank solutions) is hiring at least one driver, BTW. winch / moving tanks.

Currently Schneider parks their tanker trucks at Big Vic's truck stop. This is located at the intersection of Hwy 59 and Hwy 87 just outside Victoria. You can't miss it because the lot is always full of orange trucks.

The new yard is under construction. It is located at 2004 S Laurent, Victoria TX. The main office is currently operating at this site as well.

There is also a rumor that Schneider is looking at opening an operating center in Victoria. Currently they have centers in Dallas, Houston, and Laredo.

Any O/O on vacuum trucks or end dumps in South Texas. I have been a driver in the oilfield for 10 years and I am thinking of getting my own truck, but would like to talk to someone who is already out there. I know there is money to be made because the truck brings in 100 per hour.

If you are looking to haul some frac sand, there is a new banner up today looking for CDL drivers.

The name of the company is Equalizer Incorporated. I was going too fast to grab the phone number off the banner but if you go south on Hwy 187 off Hwy 59 and you get to the first truck stop on your right (I think it is a Shell or Phillips 66), the banner is right there. If you turn down the road to your right just past the truck stop like you are heading to Port of Victoria you will see the huge sand operation, sand haulers, and the entrance to Equalizer Inc. You will also see lots of sand haulers napping at the truck stop as it has a brand new parking area for trucks.

Hope this helps someone! Good luck sand haulers!!

He He The town gets its name from 3 Rivers that converge close by, It has people that live there, the dogs in the neighborhoods are friendly as long as you bring them a treat every now and then, The Mail person will say "Hi" to you if they see you, They will also put your mail in trhe right box(most of the time) There is a local car wash that becomes the Friday and Saturday night Cruiser hang out, unless the cruising is cancelled due to the 4th of July fireworks show down at the High School Football field, There are several Churchs in town and all of them have their services mostly on Sunday mornings, They do this because the waitresses at the local restaurants need a little extra sleep from their night on the town "Cruising" by the car wash, The people are not snooty in any Texas Town that I have ever found, They all hold doors for each other asnd often argue who is going to go thru the door first, I have found this the case in most Texas small town, The folks are just good ol'e Red Blooded Americans trying to get through life with as little distractions as possible. Thank You. Elvis has left the building.

    Three Rivers

gydupgal.....I know there are several RV parks in that area. More small town and wouldn't think you would find snobbish there as a general rule. 75 miles or so to Corpus and Padre Island. I spent the day on the Island about a month ago. You can drive the beach there for miles. If you feed the Gulls don't do it from your vehicle.....it could get soiled

Choke Canyon Reservoir is nearby and lots of wildlife. Great for photography. Federal Prison there also and Valero refinery.

I haven't been in that area in some time and all the oilfield activity has probably changed things somewhat.

Well I've always lived in y towns and in the mountains and since I'm SERIOUSLY thinking about Texas for work I'd like to live kinda close to the ocean but also farming community as I have horses and well I'd like to be where goin to church with pony pucks on my boots & hay in my hair isn't gonna draw any attention hahaha..not used to humidity but I figure if I make my move sept/oct it will give me some time to get aclimated before extreme heat & humidity set in
