I doubt you'll have a problem finding a job. Even with a camper, you might have an issue finding a place to put it..that is might. Odessa is a great place to find a job. I would look more on the outskirt's like others have said.

Bring your own pen, have your I's dotted and T's crossed, fill out app's and ask to talk to someone in HR. Maybe rent a spot in Big Spring and fill some app's out their, then drive to Midland and fill out app's and then hit Odessa. Lot rent's are a little cheaper in Big Spring, so driving to Odessa to find a job and then til you find another RV lot is worth it.

I hear they aren't letting RVs park overnight in the Walmarts or truck stops over there. Is that true?

IDK about Odessa, but probably as I know the one in Midland on the 250 N loop doesn't allow overnite parking, the one on Rankin may, I have seen Semi's and RV's there at different times. I never noticed a sign that say's anything. Same with Big Spring, though they may say something after some time. Their is a spot back between Wal-mart's tire & lube and Pizza Hut that some of the semi's park over night. That may or may not belong to the Hotel, but I know I've seen people in there trucks at 9 pm, so they aren't staying at the hotel.

I don't want to say they do or don't because I truely don't know if the T/S's aren't allowing RV's to stay overnite.

Pickup the phone and call them. They will tell you. Lots aren't because of the filth left behind. Police your area and leave it cleaner then you found it and a lot of these problems would go away. The Stripes on Garden City Hwy was lucky I wasn't the manager last time I stopped there. I would have been kicking water wienies out right and left.

I'm not looking for myself. I'm in the corpus area and perfectly happy here. I just wanted to hear if the rumors were true or not. Only way to confirm or disprove its by talking to the people that are there.

Each Wal-mart is different and the night manager one night might not give a rat's pa-tootie, the next night the manager is a jerk and doesn't like trucker's that much... no parking.

T/A's aren't listed as just "truck stops" but as places that families traveling can also stop. I'm not sure if they still are listed but AAA, at one time if not now, listed them as good places for Rv'ers to stop in their way to their favorite camp grounds.

I would call the different wal-mart's and the T/A in Big Spring and see what the main manager has to say about parking an RV over night. They may allow that, but not for someone to "drop" it while they job hunt.

Not worried about how they treat me as a driver. What I'm wondering is how welcoming they are when I am in my motorhome. They usually love RVers, and welcome them unless the town forbids it. I've stayed at dozens of them over the years and never I've had a problem with management.

I would still call in a motorhome, as one of the Wal-mart's that I worked at in FL didn't allow semi OR RV parking overnight. Semi's because of a weight issue with the way the parking lot was made and an underground river, RV's because they had trouble with some dumping their black water tank's down the sewer grates. ( The sewer had crack's that ran into the underground river)
