Hello, I noticed these posts are old. How is the business now for the crude oil? I have a crude oil trailer/tractor that I want to lease out but don't know how to get started. I have contacted a few companies on the list provided but no luck. Another newbie to the trucking biz, friend of mine, got lucky with a new company that didn't have trucks his truck is getting leased out a lot. I guess I need to look for a up and coming company as apposed to established companies. Also I think he is only getting 4000 a day that seems low if the company is running it 16 to 20 hours a day on a two man crew?? Thanks to whom ever can help

Hi Saif, I know I'm late to the conversation. What company do you own/work for? Did you get a truck?

Guys, it's killing me that these threads stop at the most interesting point... THE ANSWER TO THESE QUESTIONS !!!?!?!?
I am a CDL driver with 2007-2008 experience, now at SLB as a "Cement-Equipt. Oper." and recently got my CDL back aft a few years out of the business.
My question: Can I get a crude oil hauler gig with 18 mos. exper. FROM 2008???
Currently I am NOT driving with Schlumberger because they have they're own "driving school academy" in KellyVille, OK. to perfect your skills to drive 'they're' equipt!
Where to go for the good big bucks? Stay in West Tx. (Midland) & drive crude or water??? Or go to N.D. to make $25 pr hr????
(Currently at $17 per hour with lots of OT) -

I have 5 Crude Oil trucks and wish to put them to work in Texas if the pay is right.

The pay at SLB is "ok" ($50k-ish) ! I am after at least $70k to make the trip worth while.
I've heard Sand trucks are the big bucks right now! Unfortunately my sprinkled experience as cdl driver has me being humbled.
As you said "sell your self". I will do just that.
