One other thing I will mention about frack sand. I drive out to the Port of Victoria all the time. There are always sand haulers running into that place as there is a huge sand plant in the back near where we unload the crude.

Off of US-59 you take the exit on to 185 heading south (will say Port of Victoria) and drive until you see the shell station on the right. That is the entrance road to unload the crude and pick up the sand. You should see plenty of sand haulers run through there. Maybe you can flag one down or catch one inside the Shell station.

I think someone already mentioned Key Energy which seems to be your best shot. I see them training drivers here in Victoria all the time. Still not sure why they run those big trucks down main street though :biggrin_25523:

I know some people at CDL school received state grants to attend CDL school. I think they got the grants from the state employment office. These individuals also got paid to attend class.

Another option is to pay for the school yourself then get on with a company that reimburses you back for school. I know Sunoco and Schneider are two examples of this.

    Good luck!

I'm a newbie here, i will be completing CDL school at the end of May, i'm looking at moving out to Victoria/Corpus Christi are there companies hiring New grads out of school? i have been calling alot of companies they are wanting drivers with 2 years exp. I have talked to key energies but they dont pay near as much as people on other post are saying most companies are in Texas. I am curious about Nabors starting pay for new guys does anybody know?
