You can do like Thirsty and just hit the yards and start filling out applications. OR Maybe call Nabors (HR 432-683-5000) in Midland and ask about yards that have openings for vacuum truck drivers and ask for an application to be emailed. Complete that and get it back to HR ASAP. That is what I did.

If you find out the yards with openings, it might be faster to then call one and say you are in the area and have completed an application online with Midland location (they may have openings) Knowing you have completed that AND immediately available for interview will speed it up. Each location will have access to your app.

Get started on Monday and if all goes well you MIGHT be in orientation on Thurs of the next week. If not, then the next Thurs.

Many other companies but I have no personal knowledge to impart.

Be nice to list the company's here on the thread with their "Careers" link. Most of the larger company's will have all the info on their websites and you can apply and submit your resume online, too.

    Good luck to you!

I just rolled through Midland/Odessa last week and spent a couple of hours at the truck stop across from the Pilot. I was amazed how busy that area is. Gottta be lot's of good jobs there.

If that doesn't work out for you and if your interested, look at some of the jobs up in northern NV. Lot's of trucking jobs up out of Winnemucca, Carlin and Elko. Awesome country to drive in most of the year.

When I was at orientation, I asked Barry (on of the recruiters) what's the best route for applicants. He said it's fine to go to the Midland office, but if you go to the yard in Odessa, you might get a quicker response time, since that's where he's at.

If you link to a "career" section, many times the link will expire within a specified length of time. Best to post the main company link and let the people find the career section from there.

Well here I am I made it, 730 miles today in just over 10 hours, in a car, I will start the hunt tomorrow, I didn't really see as many billboards that I thought I would see, I will report in tomorrow, I'm tired and that is when fat fingers set in!

I can't speak personally about the Midland/Odessa area but I've heard it's the same as it is here in the Corpus Christi/Kenedy/Victoria area.

The list of companies hiring drivers where I am is long.

First off, the company I'm with is hiring. Martin Transport.

Here is a list of who I can think of right now.

    Crude Oil
    Native American Marketing
    Southern Energy Transport
    Tierra
    Enterprise
    DKS
    Suncoast
    Schneider
    Palletized
    Coastal Plains
    Genesis
    Altom
    Dillon

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. Basically, just hang out at some of the truck stops out here and start talking to drivers. They'll eagerly give you their companies info and their names because most offer a recruiting bonus.

If you come out here and have the qualifications and want a job, I see no reason why you won't have one in a few days.

    Good luck.
