I'm curious how many sand haulers DO have benefits… I can't think of any, personally.

25% in Texas might be 900 per week
25% in PA is around $2500 per week

Percentage means nothing. Rates to truck mean everything

I've worked in PA and Texas running sand and i made WAY more in Texas. As porkchop said percentage doesn't mean nearly as much as the rates. The biggest factor is really how busy the pumpers(frac companies) are. If they are desperate for drivers, the rates are mostly good.

    rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

My husband was averaging 1400 a week, hauling sand, which was more than he made hauling crude oil in south Texas, Now he's hauling flow back and we have yet to receive a check since he just started. Some of the guys that left his old company are now in Montana and Wyoming making 2500 bring home. So it really is the rate.

I ‘ve been in trucking for 12years and in the Frac Sand businessfor the last 7 years hauling in South TX, East TX, Oklahoma and New Mexico andhas made pretty good money. I’ve been leased to a company making 80% and theytaking 20%. We have hauled Frac Sand in South Tx, New Mexico, N. Dakota, OK andPennsylvania. I think it’s about time for me to get my own direct contract.I’ve saved up a pretty good some of money over the 7 years plus have anexcellent line of credit and I have 4 trucks with my own equipment. I have acouple of questions I would like to ask.
    1) Do anyone know of any other companies other thanHalliburton I can get my own contract with?

    2) I was told that detention bill is up to $85.00per hour but Halliburton only pays $55.00 per hour.

    3) Is it possible to contract with more than onecompany at time?

    4) What’s the minimum amount of trucks I may needto my own contract? ( I have the ability to get four more trucks and businesspartners that makes the total 15 to 20)

    5) What’s the minimum insurance requirement I willhave to have to get my own direct contract?

the best thing to do is talk to the drivers and ask them how hard it would be for you to make $2,400 per week working for their company.
if they tell you they are averaging $900 per week run away.
thats how I figured out who is making money here in Pennsylvania not to mention all the sand trucks coming to Pennsylvania from Idaho Utah and North Dakota because they make triple the money here.

I'm with a small frac sand hauling company here in Colorado, and he started me at 28% right out of CDL school.
