procedures and safety are deffently number 1 in the oil industry you've got know whats going on the H2S is a nasty thing if levels are high enuf it will kill you before you hit the ground, we have personal moniters for this reason, and stand-by safty crews were it's real bad.but like with any job there is always danger you need to pay attention and be safe play by the rules and you will be fine

Found a job listing in Williston for 3P job ID# 305122, pays$25. Pr hr.2 weeks on 2 wks off. Live in truck. So would that be your assigned truck to live in on your off weeks? I don't want that much time off. Do they really do that? Or is that just normal dispatcher talk?

You won't find many opportunities to live in the truck working in the oilfield. Most of the trucks are day cabs, many of them slip-seat operations. You'll run your shift, and then get out of it for the next guy to do his.

And there will be some of them that you'll hate to even climb up into so that you can get in the seat to drive. Especially after another driver has been in there eating mayonnaise & onion sandwiches, smoking cigars, and farting in the seat for his 12 hour shift.

Of course, who knows? You might get lucky and find a sleeper operation where the same guy lived in the truck before you get it. In that case, you'll find out just how many places there are to wipe boogers, hide mustard sardine cans and used condoms, and spill piss bottles - all in a 36" sleeper.

I'd plan on finding my own housing if I were you.

    Good luck.:biggrin_25525:
