Look Stevens does have a tanker job in stockdale and I know all about them when they first started. It will change your mind. First off Stevens pulled for one contract which was eog they hired inexpErienced drivers and a boss very little knowledge too and made messes in the field and on the road and disposal. They lost the contract shut the doors and told Everyone to go home. For 6 months they had 1 or 2 trucks doing small jobs until they got in the door with eog again. they picked up a little but not enough cause of trust factor. Now they also train you at Stevens yard in Dallas before you head down here don't do it waste of time

I heard that Stevens lost the contract all because they would not agree to shuttle around empty trailers for free when the truckers were sitting.

Steven's is still hiring for tanker yanker's. I tried the otr crap with steven's and came home and got a gig hauling grain. Steven's wasnt the reason I left, I didnt care for otr, I tried it and it wasnt for me. I cannot bash steven's though, maybe my experience was good with them opposed to other's situation's. From day one of calling the recruiter until I went home I was never lied to, steven's done everything they promised. I feared the worst because I read alot of post here before I went but can say my experience with them was good, and Im considering trying to get on with there tanker division. They send me rehire propaganda at least twice a month. They are a starter company and for a guy like me with less than a year of experience who wants to get into the oilfield work steven's would be a good start, from what I see most companies that pay big buck's want you to have oilfield experience and steven's offer's that, so to the guy slamming them for hiring new or less than experienced driver's what is the problom? Everyone has to start somewhere.

Totally not true. Drivers work a 5/2 schedule, 12hr shifts and we are not exempt from overtime hrs. When I was a driver I was bringing home an average $1000 a week. I love the fact I was grossing around $65k a year and the hardest part of the job is picking up or dragging a 20pd hose. We have drivers in their 60's doing it. I should know due to I am a supervisor for the tanker division. We are hiring like crazy with a long future due to we are here to stay. Stockdale tx yard is hiring at 18.25hr, jacksboro tx at 17.25hr. The differences are due to the economy in those areas. (Cost of living).

Fyi, Stevens tanker division does not furnish tools and fittings. They did at first but after new drivers figured out after a few days it wasn't for them they left with all fittings and tools. $600 worth. So if you ran a company and 2-4drivers left with those tools and fittings, how long would your comp. stay in business??? Is what they do now is they give you all fittings and have you sign for them. They take $50 out of your check until you've inquired $600. Now if you ever decide to leave, you turn all fittings in and they GIVE you the $600 back on your last check. If a fitting breaks, guess what? They give you a brand new fitting with out charge. I know because I'm a supervisor. PS: a lot of good oilfield comp. are going out of business due to the extreme loss of revenue and expenses. Hmmmm, lets think on that for a sec. Thank you

Pay your drivers another $20k/year...to be competitive.... maybe they wont be walking out so quick. As for the tools and fittings, I've never heard of anyone charging the driver for anything. It is sad though, that some would steal. This is a typical big company, otr mindset where they pay lower than industry standard rates, pile all of the responsibility on the driver, then make it sound like the drivers brought it on themselves.
