Look Stevens does have a tanker job in stockdale and I know all about them when they first started. It will change your mind. First off Stevens pulled for one contract which was eog they hired inexpErienced drivers and a boss very little knowledge too and made messes in the field and on the road and disposal. They lost the contract shut the doors and told Everyone to go home. For 6 months they had 1 or 2 trucks doing small jobs until they got in the door with eog again. they picked up a little but not enough cause of trust factor. Now they also train you at Stevens yard in Dallas before you head down here don't do it waste of time
V8-MACK Thanks this. -
I heard that Stevens lost the contract all because they would not agree to shuttle around empty trailers for free when the truckers were sitting.

I got into trucking 14 years ago and YANKED TANKS Skates boards bulk tanks through these hilly dirty icy roads and can't wait to come back home to Bandera Kerrville area do you think there's a D job for me

Steven's is still hiring for tanker yanker's. I tried the otr crap with steven's and came home and got a gig hauling grain. Steven's wasnt the reason I left, I didnt care for otr, I tried it and it wasnt for me. I cannot bash steven's though, maybe my experience was good with them opposed to other's situation's. From day one of calling the recruiter until I went home I was never lied to, steven's done everything they promised. I feared the worst because I read alot of post here before I went but can say my experience with them was good, and Im considering trying to get on with there tanker division. They send me rehire propaganda at least twice a month. They are a starter company and for a guy like me with less than a year of experience who wants to get into the oilfield work steven's would be a good start, from what I see most companies that pay big buck's want you to have oilfield experience and steven's offer's that, so to the guy slamming them for hiring new or less than experienced driver's what is the problom? Everyone has to start somewhere.
Uncle Ben, rckbottom, coryged and 1 other person Thank this. -

Pay your drivers another $20k/year...to be competitive.... maybe they wont be walking out so quick. As for the tools and fittings, I've never heard of anyone charging the driver for anything. It is sad though, that some would steal. This is a typical big company, otr mindset where they pay lower than industry standard rates, pile all of the responsibility on the driver, then make it sound like the drivers brought it on themselves.
Western flyer and flightwatch Thank this.
