    Why did you leave?

How much did you make during those 8 1/2 months? What do they pay now?

I grossed $ 78,000.00 in the 8.5 months I was there. I started taking quit a bit of time off the last two months and the first month was 40 hr weeks training (no OT). When I was working 5&1 and not taking any extra time off, I was grossing over $ 11,000.00 per month ($ 5,900.00 every two weeks). Pay and living quarters are all negotiable. Some people came to ND to haul crude for $ 19.00/ hr and others for $ 30.00/hr. I can't emphasize it enough, IT IS ALL NEGOTIABLE.
I left because long-term, the lifestyle was not for me. I now work M-F with weekends and holidays off.

QualityMike, I'm wondering about a few things.

You worked 5 and 1, how many hours did that give you in the week?

You stated that you grossed $78,000 in 8 months, can you delve into the rate for us, or give us an example of how you made that much?

What does MBI require in experience to haul crude?

    How's the equipment they used?

Well that sounds pretty good. I head to training on the 15th of April then off to Pennsylvania to haul sand.

There are certain oil field exemptions, 24 hr restart instead of 34 hr as an example, but in a 7 day pay period you work 6 days and get anywhere from 72 to 84+ hours. OT after 40 hours. If you swap out in the field, you might be on the clock for 16-18 hours, you only have to stop driving at the 14 hour mark. The hours add up pretty quick. Try to think out of the box. I saw a guy with less than a year in tanks go to oil and I saw them turn down a guy who drove the Dalton Highway in Alaska for oil. It all depends on supply and demand at the time that you apply. I also saw a guy turn down their first offer and they came back with $ 3.00 more per hour. IT IS ALL NEGOTIABLE.

The equipment ranges from fairly new, < 75,000 miles, to 800,000+ mile trucks.

I have a buddy who lives up there and works for MBI hauling water. He use to haul sand and they just recently switched him to water. He loves the job! He has no complaints as far as I know.
