I spoke with a Plains driver in my area. He is hauling 3-4 loads per night but only driving about 200 total miles. I haul 1 load per night but drive close to 500 miles. I don't mind going to a couple of wells per day but I am not sure I would want to try and hunt down 4 wells in the dark each evening, LOL.

This area is getting slow some what; the competition has figured out whats going on and the undercutting is going on big time. Plus there are rigs moving and relocating and picking up the new competition. The top guys doing 100+ hrs are doing 30% less on avg with some; others are pencil whooping the hell out of hours.

Wow, I don't notice it being slow in the TX panhandle. What I do notice is lots of new trucks have come into the area to work. I have met a lot of drivers coming down from ND and I hear all kinds of reasons like pay is getting lower, living up there is becoming harder and harder due to overpopulation, etc. But yes, lots of new trucking companies in the area. I see a lot more of ULM up here, they have a HUGE yard down in Wichita Falls. Everyone likes to complain about SNI being a big trucking company and pushing down rates but I thought ULM was also a big trucking company. See lots more O/O too, I have heard the BlackRock company drivers over in Sayre, OK ######## about not getting enough loads due to O/O being brought into the fold. But I still see lots of ads for crude haulers so I am not sure we have seen the top yet.

Got some work for Western OK and the TX panhandle to report. There are several positions...

    1) Are you a driver hauling crude or looking to haul crude? Do you have 1 year of tractor trailer experience and a clean driving record? (crude experience and tanker experience preferred but may not be necessary for the right drivers).

    2) Are you an O/O looking for a contract? There are 8 to 10 openings and the tanker can be provided as long as your truck has the right setup.

    3) Are you an ASC certified mechanic looking to run a 1 bay shop? You will be working on new or slightly used Peterbilts.

Just added more wells and looking to grow. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

A lot of new drilling rigs have sprung up on HWY 152 East of Wheeler, TX. One even had to erect a huge wall to block out a house about 250 yards away! Also still seeing a lot of fracking going on up CR22. Lots of new wells have come online from Apache too. Things still booming up this way!

you should have worked in wheeler two years ago, a lot of the rigs have spread out around the area but at one time they were all on the stiles and britt ranch! and apache is the major production company in that area and has 80% of the wells in that region.

I'm headed over to Tx in the next couple of days. Will be looking to haul water or sand until I get my hazmat transferred over to TX license. I'm excited about the move. Things look pretty good over there. Hope everything works out.

Can anyone suggest the best paying area , i'm figuring south west texas but i'm not sure got a job offer down there but the guy said 35 cent;s per mile and up to 80 dollars per load . he said the money was good but I just didn't see it 35 cents a mile and im spending allot of time with upload and down load and crawling down frack dirt road's maybe im missing something , they had pretty good man camp , but I just don't see any money at this rate . I would really like heavy haul but I've never worked the oil patches , I've got tons of experience have hauled pretty much everything and have clean drive record ,do any of the bigger company's pay by the hour down there ? i'm very mobile can go about anywhere excellent health and used to working over a hundred hours a week , and living in man camp situations . maybe someone know's something about Wyoming and Montana , im looking for the most remote area. thank's.
