Speaking of this, 13 years, Dad always let me sit behind the wheel and drive the truck. I have been riding with his since I was 4.

..... and, going back to the original discussion: Where the heck is the money in sand, well..... it's in Colorado. For the most part the hiring companies are located between Brighton and Lucerne on hwy 85 and from Windsor down to Denver on i25. Plenty of companies hiring, RMT, TRANSPRO, DILLON, LINKS, ROCKING T, ILLINY, JUSTICE, and a whole lot more. Schedule usually sucks, but the money is there. Otherwise, go haul water, crude, gasoline, or food.

So guys Frac Sand business is doing well again. Well at least for our company. We are seeing more demand and are staying really busy. Anyone else want to share their story that is working for a larger company?
D&T Trucking bought out: Rowdy Farms and Gila Trucking and are supposedly changing their name to 1845 Oilfield Services. -
Big companies pay the operation of loading sand at freight yards and the wells, when delayed, they pay drivers detention.

I just saw three pay checks for a driver hauling sand. $2500, $2200, $2700. Bare minimum I hear is $2k a week.

Too bad environmentalists are pushing law makers to put a statewide ban on fracking in Colorado on the November ballot ! We need to vote it down ! Tell everyone you know ! Thousands of families will lose their income , will have to take lesser paying jobs or be forced to relocate to make a living. A ban is already in effect in select jurisdictions. We need to look out for our own well being. Too many people are ignorant about the facts that fracking does NOTHNG to harm anyone or anything. And we think CO. economy is shaky now? They want to eliminate one of the most profitable industries in the state. I live on the western slope where life and economy were great until the energy industry started shrinking. Unemployment skyrocketed, cost of living went up, wages dropped, never the same again. Only one company doing majority of energy work over here now. Normaly doing only daylight operations, they are starting 24 hour operations to make sure that they finish up in CO. by the end of the year preparing for the statewide ban in case voters pass it. SCARY! I made a good living for the past 4 years hauling sand. What do the "huggers" expect me and the estimated 80,000+ other people losing thier jobs to do ? A bunch of ignorant hypocrites! Anyone who needs this industry in CO. needs to stand up and fight for it!
