Hey everyone! Can you please chime in about Crude hauling companies that hire owner operators?

I want to contact a company before I spend $92,000 on a trailer and a wet kit. Or can I work for a company directly since I have my own authority.

    Thank you in advance!

Have you looked at any of the companies which provide the tanker? Example, QC Energy in Weatherford, OK is looking for O/Os and QC will provide the tanker. But you do have to have the centrifuge or agree to pay to get one mounted ($2500) to your tractor. They were offering 67% of the load to an O/O.

Mercuria over in the TX panhandle had a company called Premier hauling for them. Spoke with one of their O/Os and Mercuria provided him with the tanker.

I've been told the maintenance on a tanker is a big expense for an O/O so something to consider.

The topic of hauling crude seems to be the hardest type of hauling experience to get data on. I have a lot of experience running tankers hauling fuels and lube oils myself but can't seem to get the straight poop on working in the oilfield. The general consensus is the there is a ton of money to be made hauling crude but not without costs. The road conditions can be primitive sometimes and this will take it's toll on any piece of equipment.

I'll be checking this thread for any additional information.

    Best to all!

Yes it can be very rough on your equipment, and there is money to be made but you have to find a "GOOD" company with "STEADY WORK".. There are a few threads in here that mention alot of the companies that work in the oilfields, but getting some first hand knowledge of how good some of the companies are sometimes is the hardest thing!!
