Any info on EagleOne oilfield transportation? They are advertising for drivers in NE Ohio. I can find very little about them on any forum or board. They sent me info showing pay, benefits, requirements etc. Just looking for more info.

I am not far from you down here in Carrollton, I was wanting to find information on them also. There is a ton of companies hiring right now but I can't seem to find much info on any of them. What do they start out for pay wise?

Min .50 mi with hazmat or .40 without 165 mile guarantee paid each time you switch units and $17 hr wait time. They sent a complete rate sheet to me that is very detailed. They claim 900-1200 a week

Have you checked into mountain energy in Minerva, see they're advertising for drivers, and oilfield truck solutions in canton, the Chesapeake company is looking for drivers, although all I see on them is bad reviews

Careful Bob. I worked with them. What you can expect:

    1) You'd better enjoy living like a Fireman - You're available 24 hours a day. Don't make plans you can't break because turning down a dispatch means you're fired. This wears on you quickly.

    2) You must be a vampire - I'd guess that 75% of all the calls I got were overnight (starting at 5PM & ending around 8AM - you'll work a full 14 hours). Doesn't sound too bad? You get a ten hour break and must be immediately available for dispatch again. Some of those calls come during the day so this isn't a job you can juggle with another gig.

    3) You'd better be a quick learner - You'll be moving every type of truck under the sun, mostly at night. Never driven a 8 year old Mack before? Better memorize where all the controls are quick or you're ######### because oilfield trucks are beaten to hell, their condition is for ######, and the dash lights often don't work. You're pretrip is laughable in that it's supposed to cover everything on the aforementioned beat to hell trucks. What do you think happens if you consistently say that you're truck isn't safe to drive or that you need another 15-30 minutes to complete a REAL pretrip? Think you'll be around long? Right.

    4) You better be prepared for stress - In the six months I worked with them there was a critically stressful situation every week. Nearly driving a convoy over a 5 ton bridge because someone got lost, the guy in front of you in the convoy forgets you're behind him and leaves you on your own with no directions, trucks breaking down with hazmat loads etc. Blame shifting and ### covering is an art form you'd better learn quickly.

    5) You better like grandparents - 50% of the people who worked there were retired and doing this for additional income. They were generally #####y all the time and had some serious health conditions (hearing aids that never worked/heart conditions etc.).

    6) You better like sardines because you'll be one - You get dispatched in a van that comfortably seats eight but often is packed as tight as they can get it. Now imagine you're riding like this for three hours EACH WAY on dispatch. Throw in the aforementioned grumpy elders and multiply by 7. That's your week. Being in close quarters with these #####y folks gets really old (no pun intended) really quick.

    7) You better pray that the guy driving your van got some sleep - Remember, he's on 24 hour dispatch too and many times a driver would be called in at 8PM after being up all day and expected to drive the shuttle all night. Is he going to stop and ask somebody to drive for him if he's tired? If he does will they send him out again? You better hope he stops because if he falls asleep while driving you're dead.

    Other than that it's swell...
