I'm looking for information on companies with yards in or near San Antonio. I just transferred with my current company to George West. Unfortunately they don't have as much work as I was led to believe and I don't care for the way the yard is run. I have apps with MBI and Dillon, just waiting to schedule interviews. I know some of you are hauling out of SA and I'm interested in learning who those companies are.
The current plan is to bring my family from Midland to SA because it's too hard to find decently priced housing in George West, plus we like the ammenities a city offers. I'm alright with staying in a company man camp on my scheduled days, but would much prefer to work out of a yard closer or in SA so I can be home every day.
Thanks in advance for your help. BTW - I have 15 months driving experience with a large oil field service company, clean MVR, tanker and hazmat endorsements, solid employment history and no criminal bkgrnd.

There are quite a few that work out of Dilley, Pearsall, Cotulla area. Would be a little closer to SA. Seems like I've seen some around Seguin as well.
Ben Gunn Thanks this. -
Gold spurs is in Seguin, TX. Some bad reviews from other truckers. But Ive heard rumors there starting to turn it around. and with only 15 months experiance I know they can hire drivers at that level of experiance. I worked for them for a bit and they treated me fair and probably would again. My checks sometimes were a little ascued but they always made them right and always with in a day or two. Thats my 2 cents. Good luck

Having hauled crude in this area, my advice is to work for one of the companies who hauls their own crude - the company whose name is stenciled on the tanks.
Enterprise, Sunoco, Gulfmark, etc.Ben Gunn Thanks this. -

lets see, i worked at goldspur for about 6 mos. left them last fall. i tried to get on with enterprise either in SA or corpus. they interviewed me, but i dont think they were really hiring or were waiting for new trucks is what they said. anyway i moved back to florida and hauling gas. i know a few other guys that were in north dakota hauling water up there and they quit and came back to florida also. maybe all this oilfield aint so busy anymore? if its kind of slow where you are, maybe its kind of slow everywhere in the oil field.
