Hey, Rollin' On. Did you happen to notice that the post above you is truckdriver 74's first post ever ??? Didn't even need to ask for directions or say 'Hi' in the Welcome Wagon first. Just came straight here and apparently took umbrage with my long post. Imagine THAT !

So are you saying he is an owner for Maalt or just a sock puppet?

I noticed that and yet I was trying to be nice in my response. He sounds like a newbie to Maalt or a recruiter. He was on the defensive that's for certain. What he doesn't know is that Maalt is currently stiffing all of the outside companies that help them from time to time to haul their sand. Two weeks ago my company quit helping Maalt because they were either short paying us or not paying us at all for loads that we had hauled for them. It doesn't matter because the company that I work for has plenty of good paying work elsewhere. I made $2460 for hauling 10 loads in a week and I ran about 2000 miles total. If I had done the work for Maalt they would have paid me $95 per load which means I would of only made $950. I hardly call that good pay by any stretch of the imagination. However, if a driver wants to get into hauling frac sand it is probably one of the only places that you can start without prior experience.

On another note. I'm headed out today for another three week round after being home for the past four days. You guys be safe out there and maybe I'll see you on the road.

I recently worked for Maalt and I can tell you it is not a company you want to work for. Yes, they offer you a $3500 sign on bonus and yes you will see that, but only if you're with the company for a year. They say the load pay goes up to a $95 cap, but that is nonsense. I knew guys that have worked there for quite a few years and are still only making $85/load. One year ago, that was the starting load pay. Now they've moved it down to $75/load. They also offer safety bonuses as well, but very few drivers get that bonus due to "drivers not turning in their logs". I have seen drivers turn their logs in everyday and i also have personally made sure these logs were sent in so drivers could get their compensation only to be told later they wouldn't get it because some logs mysteriously disappeared? And don't trust the General Manager either because he will take employees out and break the companies policies and procedures but won't fight for employees when they do the same. I know a few employees who have been terminated due to this. He was very quick to say "Lead by example" but when you follow tge leaders examples, you'll get terminated for that.
Maalt claims to be a family oriented company, but all you really are to them is a person they can make a nice profit from and won't be able to see your family for long periods at a time.
    I hope this helps

    HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thanks this.

Maalt has been around for years. They own their own sand plants. 1 in Gardendale, 2 in Ft Worth, 1 in Midlothian, Amarillo, etc.

Ok guys personal experience: I work for maalt transport in gage oklahoma. The dilly txt yard is soon implementing a 150$ a day minimum pay benefit if things haven't changed. U have a sleeper, some meal pay, 3500$ sign on, a boot program, xata boxes to protect you while driving, and soon we are telling fleet for 2014 Macks with auto Allison transmissions. I can't go wrong giving these guys at least a shot, especially with the offer of free housing if there is a mancamp there like here I'm gage, oklahoma. I'm not trying to sell a job or hire hands here, I'm just opening up the jist of the job- Heil trailer technician-
