hey bro i got this from truckers report and i made a deep search to find it one of our fellow truckers posted it, it's about how long ago was your felony charge to get hired by one of these companies enjoy it and good luck here you go [h=2]Companies that will hire you with a felony background[/h]
I recently had the pleasure of looking for a job with the double whammy of being a new driver and having a major felony conviction. I got a lot of good advice on an earlier thread I posted (thanks) and eventually did find a job (thanks again). In the process, I made up a list of companies that will hire you with a felon. Some of the entries I couldn't totally verify and am just going on hearsay but most of them I was able to find where they would hire someone with a felony. Being a new driver, I was also interested in what experience they offered, so I added that to the list where I could. I can't vouch for whether any individual company is a good place to work, mainly because...I never worked for any of them. There are people and posts on this forum better able to answer those questions, not me. All I can say is there were a few companies, even in my desperate situation, I decided would be like prison again. One company, Carolina Cargo, will hire anybody at all with a record, but a couple people I know tell me it's a blemish from other employers if they see you worked there; I'm just passing info. Luckily, I found a job with a smaller company and will be on the road forthwith and I feel all warm and fuzzy inside, but I remember how frustrating it can be, so I want to help you out a little here, just do a fellow ex-con a favor and help us get a better image, be the best truck driver, the best person you can be. Have at it.

I called maverick numerous times in the past & when I mentioned I was a felon they hung up on me the first time, when I called back I was told by someone that being a felon I am a DO NOT HIRE & doesn't matter what the crime was. I don't know if they have changed any since I've last talked to them but i'm willing to bet probably not as picky as they are

You can pretty rest assure that having not just 1 but 2 felonies and most recently 3yrs ago...your cdl and getting a job especially hauling hazmat is not going to happen. Most companies want atleast 5yrs for just 1 conviction. Sooner than that and more than 1 and you can probably hang up the hopes of driving.

Not trying to be mean but most out there dont hire felons at all even old ones. Carolina Cargo used to hire felons right out of prison but insurance companies made them finally change that just as why most companies say atleast 5-10 yrs before you can even be eligible for hire. Sorry man but thats industry standard regardless of paying your dues and what the crime was.

I feel for you i had 1 felony that is being expunged that was 10 years ago and no one would hire me until i got it expunged....think your chances are extremely low if any best look for local/farm work anyone who runs a background check will probably skip you

The companies that actually take drivers with felonies regardless how long ago it was is very slim. They say it isn't automatic disqualification, but bet your butt it pretty much is. Some companies say per insurance they want it atleast 5yrs old but most say atleast 10yrs. Carolina Cargo was the only company actively hiring felons fresh from prison. But their insurance company put a stop to that. So having your class a cdl with hazmat and tanker is going to do nothing but disappoint you forwasting your me and money getting it. Whoever told you while you were paying your dues that getting all of that was a good idea should be kicked. Because your first felony in 08 is just now near that 5yr requirement from most companies but then you add a 2nd 3yrs ago. You are pretty much unhirable industry wide. You may get lucky if you can talk a small company into hiring you and training you. If you find that job, stay put n deal with whatever happens because that company is a rarity. No reputable companies big or little that youll find on here will hire you though. Sorry so long and cold but I think everyones just sugar coating it for you. I am an honest person. A 2 time felon shouldn't be allowed to be responsible for a vehicle and freight valued at over half a million dollars. Stay in your town n find a local day job. Youll save yourself a lot of headache, heartache, and hassle applying where just to keep getting no's at every turn.

Keep your chin up rik. If you want it bad enough to keep trying you will find somebody who will take a chance on you. I would try the small family owned companies. Big companies probably won't hire you.

I don't know about otr driving but you can get an oilfield job as a felon I promise. It will take work on your part and you may have to go out to midland Odessa to find one but somebody will hire. You'll most likely have to do lots of manual labor and you won't use your license much but felons tend to do really well in the oilfield.
