It was my mistake, but the way it was handled by the company could've been better. I've seen other drivers do worse that are still there.
Any information on chalk mountain services

I have a few friends that still work there. They said they are having a hard time keeping drivers at night. Not sure what's going on there.

For the record...I don't have anything against them as a company. I had fun while I was there and got paid well and on time. Office personnel weren't bad, and the drivers would help each other out if you needed it. I remember my first night, my PTO went out and I still had a full trailer. Another driver pulled around once he was done and let me hook up my hot hose to his blower so I could get unloaded and head back to the shop. The pushers can be kind of a pain, but they have to deal with a bunch of people all at once, with the company man breathing down their neck. I wish things would've worked out, since at least I was home every night. Now I'm home for 4 days every couple of weeks.

I'm trying to get some info on Chalk Mountain myself, I was a former sand hauler for Schneider National, before they decided to shut it down. But I thought I'd give crude oil a try and I don't like it, I want to get back in a sand can...Thanks

The biggest thing I didn't like was sucking in the fumes when buying oll. But, buying oil is a lot more work than pulling into a sand plant. Then, I didn't get an hour or two on the blacktop listening to MP3s like I often did in sand. Our loads were pretty short so it was a lot of busyness moreso than just driving. And, with the cold setting in up here, I was just dreading it.
Money would have been everything everyone has said, though. -
I drove up to Pleasanton today after downloading and filling out the app. The yard was easy to find and I talked to a couple of drivers there too, all had good and bad things to say about the company. But every trucking company has it's good and bad. I went into the office to turn in my app and after a few minutes wait I was able to speak with the terminal manager and she just asked me about my driving experience and stuff. She said they need to do the background and motor vehicle report and ect...
The only thing I'm not really understanding is they work a fixed shift. 4am-4pm and night shift is 6pm-6am. So what I don't understand is what happens if your stuck at the frac site for two days? One of the drivers I talked to said they will recall you back to the yard and send another truck out, that just seems just plain weird to me? When I hauled sand before for Schneider sometimes we would have the whole fleet staged on the lease road (18 trucks), just waiting for the sand pusher to get us on the pad to blowoff. I sat in my truck on the lease road for 20 hours and once I got on the pad they told me to hook up my hose and go to sleep. They would wake me up in the morning when they where ready for me to blowoff. I spent 32 hours in my truck before I could unload.
Anyone know any more about this company or how their schedules work?

Schedule is 4 days on/2 days off. I was told by one of the drivers there that you must start out working nights, your issued blue coveralls. So all the new guys wear the coveralls first, then after 90 days you can move to days and you get your regular FR work shirts. But they pay a dollar more an hour for nights, so I guess some guys just stay on working night shift. $18.50 hr days/$19.50 hr nights
The other problem the driver said was that guys try and come back to work "before" there 10 hour break is up and I guess they will send you home. Also the driver said the new policy is you can only punch in 15 minutes before your shift starts, again guys were punching in 30-45 minutes early and just sitting around until their shift starts.
So at 5 days a week; 4/2 schedule...5x12=60, and 60x$19.50=$1170. That's just a rough guess...
