Search 'MBI' in the forum. There is a lot of information on MBI and Missouri Basin.

Stay the F away from ANYTHING MBI. I lived in DIckinson ND (30 miles from there offices) and have MANY people i know who worked there as drivers and mechanics. EVERY person who has worked there as run away screaming (drivers), the mechanics were treated little better. When MBI was smaller they were a bit better to work for, but they have grown too much too fast and treat there people like the neighbors dog poo. They also dont do a very good job on keeping there trucks in the best working order they can. SHortcuts are the norm there.

Was just out in the shop taling to a couple of our drivers and our mechanic who used to all work for MBI. MBI is now using volvos to haul crude oil. Seems one of the guys had the dashboard of the truck he was driving fall into his lap the SECOND day he was in the brand new truck. These volvos are NOT crude hauling trucks, but it was what MBI is now useing.

That would be just a story. I had one of the first volvos MBI got up in Ross. I much prefer having a manual but end of the day the autoshift isn't so bad. We have a few volvos doing crude but not many. They tend to put the newer, higher hp 18 speed trucks over on the oil side at my yard in Ross. But not all of our trucks are volvo's either, most of the volvos are water haulers and even then there are still a few freightliners. Seems like most of your stories are second or third hand type stuff but there isn't a way you would know any better. However, one thing that was nailed on the head at our yard at least is the mechanic issue. They tend to have an attitude of "run it until it breaks" and will push you as far as you let them. If you put your foot dowm and refuse to run because there is a DOT infraction on your truck they might give you some attitude but they will fix it. Dispatch, mechanics, etc can't say jack about it as MBI boasts its safety program heavily that if you say its a dot/safety issue it will go into the shop.
