I see they are having a job fair next week and I'm tossing around the idea of grabbing a flight and checking it out. Has anyone been to one of these"job fairs" . Would it be worth my time off work,Plane ticket and such or are these "job fairs" a joke or do the pretty much hire whoever shows up? Thanks for any I nfo.:biggrin_25511:

It seems I remember a guy posting about job fairs in Williston and he thought it was a waste of his time. YMMV.

I got hired on the spot at the last job fair I went to. It may be a good opportunity.

None of the Energy service companies hire everybody that shows up! Sanjel's main office in the US is in downtown Denver and they have job fairs every couple of months in my area. I've talked to several people who have said they are very selective in their hiring process. My opinion is that person to person contact is the best way to get hired at any job and I hate the new 'Email your resume' hiring environment.

I actually was interviewed and offered a Job with them; this was after I got hired by Halliburton. They were looking for people too work in Montana. It was closer to home; but the deal breaker for me was the Salary pay. They said it works out to be 60K with bonuses at the time. This was in 2011 when I first joined these forums.

Don't know if it changed; but that's a little bit of the inside info I got during the process.

YMMV means your mileage may vary. And that means it might be different for you.
