you're right, I don't have firsthand knowledge of it. I've got no dog in the fight either, I'm no fan of Schneider by any means. I guess my basic point was someone undercutting, backdoor dealing, and generally screwing over as many people in the process should be considered business as usual in the oilfields by now. And that I do have firsthand knowledge of. If y'all work with up and up companies and do good business there more power to you, I tried to do some good business in Cheneyland and left with a pretty bad taste in my mouth. I think it's sick what the oil companies get away with, we could do it right and there would be good jobs for a lot of people. Instead you have a few greedy buzzards making all the dough, while everybody else is risking life and limb for $15-$20/hr. But again, it's all good capitalism in alot of peoples minds, who am I to argue with that ?

Ditch on both sides of the road. The government actually does play a vital role in free markets, it's like the referees, it's supposed to maintain a competitive environment. Crony capitalism is corruption, it's inside dealing, and to any extent Schneider is involved in that anyone has a right to be mad. But, I promise you, companies don't have to have 20,000 power units to cheat their a@@es off- you already know that.

It might be good for us to go back in time when there were no perpetual corporations. Corporations were originally formed for specific, particularly large economic tasks like building a railroad, and then their charters ran out. I get it if people lament behemoth corporations, but, do these same people drive Chevys and shop at Walmart or Best Buy? If massive corporations can compete in every other endeavor that provides us with the products and services we all want, why can't they try to do to trucking what they do to everything else, offer a lower price dealing in a tremendously larger volume?

Again, if they aren't able to cut costs (lower wages) and maintain an acceptable level of service, that's perfectly fine with me. That doesn't mean they don't have a right to try.

I'm with you on that. I didn't call anyone dumb until I was told "you are so clueless it's laughable." and I was called a "cheese eater", whatever that is. I appreciate your intervention.

At times it is easy to slip into the short cut of name calling rather than expanded or explained conversation. I have to take exception to your statement that a government plays a role in a free market. In a truly free market the ideal would be one in which the market over time corrects the errors of businesses or an informed, educated customer base would filter out corrupt and therefore less efficient providers or producers. This is, of course and academic discussion, as there are few pure systems unaltered by some type of intervention. I can cut short the tedious and long thesis possible on such a subject by naming personal responsibility as a huge factor in "the market". You have a responsibility to be the best employee and demand just compensation. You have a responsibility as a consumer to demand the best value and even possibly consider the long term effects of your choices (local vendor vs national giant).
    Again my opinion.

So is it just in south Texas? Because they are hauling frac sand here in west Texas. Just saw three of them this morning sleeping in a water disposal parking lot.

That is BS. There is not one single case of frac water messing up wells. One of those was here in Aledo TX. Attorneys and others in case got in trouble for staging gas coming out of water hose. Turns out is a natural occurrence and nothing to do with fracing.

People in this country are pathetic. They whine about high gas prices and a stale economy, yet we are trying to lower our dependency on foreign oil while creating good jobs for people. Then the tree huggers and get rich quick morons file suit and make false accusations trying to destroy an industry that is very tech savvy and trying to be as environmentally friendly as possible. Yes there is always risk with reward, that is the price of trying to prosper.

yes.... that is exactly what that means.... Are you really from Alberta ? Because you seem like you may be a product of the fine public schools in TX. I hear the economy in Mexico across the border is booming as well, lot's of jobs. I guess they know how to do it right just like TX.
