Hi Nevanervis!
I'm a girl with hazmat, tanker, doubles, triples, TWIC Card, 5-years experience, no tickets or accidents. Have hauled pneumatic cement tankers, but not liquids. I was having trouble getting noticed by crude oil companies until I got my 30-Hour OSHA (you only need the 10-Hour class), H2S Awareness, First Aid/CPR/AED Certificates. I also took some community college classes on process management and refinery operations, but there wasn't a place on the applications to list the classes.I began applying to crude oil companies, again. I immediately got a pre-hire from one company, and I have offers from several others in oil field services. I believe my taking the classes on my own demonstrated I was serious, and the offers came pouring in.
I believe oil companies perceive some "risk" in hiring girls. Not because we can't do our jobs. They just worry about investing in our training and certificates, only to have us quit for reasons they can't control (like hazing from the men). By taking classes on your own, you minimize their financial risk and demonstrate that you are serious by investing in yourself.
OSHA-10 costs appx $89.95 online. You can get H2S for 19.95 online. First Aid/CPR/AED costs $79.00. You can take the 8-hour class at any Red Cross Facility.
Texas may want you to have a BACT Card, now know as a DISA Card, too. The DISA Card is a 4-hour class and costs $40.00.

Not being rude, but that's not a compliment driver. A driver is a driver is a driver. It's just a matter of "that" driver being a "better" driver...it's just a steering wheel no anatomy needed to hold a steering wheel. -
hazing from the men. SHEESH.

If you can drive and do the work a female can haul crude oil, frac sand or anything else if they want a job. I've heard about drivers being attacked at some of the ranches by illegals but I've not known anyone that this has happened to. You will be by yourself going to these locations that are out in the middle of nowhere. You can easily get lost on those ranches. The directions aren't the greatest and at 2am you may miss a turn. I have been searched by the King Ranch security. They were looking for drugs and guns.

The company my husband works for also has a husband and wife that works for them. I've seen a number of women driving out here. Midland/Odessa area. Couple water haulers and at least one hauling crude.
