This job is in cheyenne wyoming for equipment operator. Plan to stay in fort collins colorado..The commute is on 35 min. What's the interview process like? Just a bit concerned about buying a plane ticket from nc to Wyoming just to be told to #### off. I have just separated from the military..so no oil field experience. I hear it's easy to get this job as long as you have a clean mvr and no felonies. Any truth to this?

I want to move my family with me to Colorado but worried after being in the military and moving around all the time if this will be the same? Really would like to plant roots in Colorado..anyone have experience with this? Would it be possible?

I got offered a job in Greely, Co hauling water I think for about $300/day. Taken with a grain of salt of course.

Oil field related companies LOVE former military. Do your research, decide what job YOU want and start from there. Chances are good that you can get any entry level job in the oilfield. That military experience will help you a lot over the years if you perform well. Every company I have ever worked for has placed a lot of value on military experience when looking at promotions, etc. In the oilfield, that mindset is X 10. Use it to your advantage. It is one of the few ways that you can benefit from your service for our country...take what it gives. And...Thank you for your service.

Hefty (well deserved) tax incentives don't hurt either.

Thank you gentleman for all the input. Booked my ticket for wyoming. Interview on Dec 5th..time to start a new adventure! Random question...is it possible to make 45 grand starting? I know this is a vague question..but in my research that seems to be the salary for most entry level positions.

If that is your expectation..keep it. You should be able to do much better, but high expectations have ruined many more dreams than low expectations have.

45 grand is my bottom line..mainly because I draw I pretty decent disability check from the military. But I agree with you..

You should be able to make twice that if this is for frac which it sounds like it is.
