I was first contacted by Sunoco about a month go after I put in my application. I was then given an interview about two weeks later, which went well, and the people seem great. It has been 2 weeks since the interview and paperwork has been sent to the terminal I am supposed to be looking into. I am really wanting to get back to work asap. I was told, thanks to this forum that the 3k relocation bonus is given about 2 weeks after you submit the paper work proving a lease within 50 miles of the terminal, which is understandable. My question is, does anyone have any advice/expectations they would like to share? Thanks!

Sunoco is a bonafide co. Pulled loads for them in and out of Tulsa for awhile. Reallly liked their employees. What are you supposed to be doing? GAsoline? Propane or dryvans delivering oil drums and cases? We hauled gas, propane and stuff called Alky feed which was water, butane, and slime.

I also just got the call for an interview for Monday in Abilene TX. If all goes well I would be working in Midland/Odessa area. Super excited to hear this is a good company.

I also went in for an interview last Thursday that went very well. Has anyone actually talked to one of the drivers to see what you can expect to make. I am new to this so I am not sure what I should expect.

^^^ Are you fresh out of CDL school or just new to O&G?

If you're a new driver you'll have to work for a placement agency for 30 days at $14/hr first before getting on as a Sunoco driver.

The drivers on here have all said they are on track to make +/-$80k for the year...which is $5k above the average that the recruiter stated to me....she said $68-90k 75 being average between them. As with any commission job I suspect those at the lower end don't last long. So you either work your butt off or go elsewhere! I'm good with that.

You bet, im good with that also. The trucking supervisor I talked with said if my background check comes back good and it will, he would hire me on directly for sunoco and no temp agency.

Has anyone heard anything about the Hearne terminal? Drivers, equipment etc? Consistant pay?

I am also wondering about the different areas for Sunoco job areas.

I am in Florida now and will be relocating so I would like to know the better areas for work. I will have a brand new CDL w/haz .I drove sometime ago but had small children and OTR wasn't good for me.
I don't have small kids. My wife will be in Thailand for a while. She is a nail tech. She can transfer her license to Texas.
I was looking at either "SAN ANGELO" or "Wichita Falls". I saw that Wichita Falls has a bad drought going on now.

    Thanks
    Jim

You'll have to ask your Sunoco recruiter....they are hiring a lot so their needs are changing rapidly.

    jte Thanks this.
