I have been made aware that Sunoco has a strict social media policy. Effective immediately I can no longer give you any information regarding the company. If you would like info then you need to contact a recruiter. I apologize in advance to those I cannot help. It is not worth losing my job over. Im sure everyone understands. If possible, can an admin please delete any threads I have started? I will continue to monitor this forum, but cannot provide any info regarding Sunoco. Thanks for your understanding.

I personally appreciate the help and information you and others give .but my question is how would Sunoco or other companies find out about who you are if you don`t have a picture on the profile and your name doesn`t show up ..so in other words you could still carry on posting about your own company on social medias if you take your picture out ..just an observation .after all it is up to you and we understand your concern ..thanks for all the effort you put in ..

I suppose if they really wanted to they could collect all the personal facts from every post and narrow it down to figure out who the guy really is. What I can't imagine is how they'd actually enforce anything. Do you admit to playing crime investigator on a message board and then fire someone for talking about the company? Maybe they could do it under the guise of trade secrets, or something.

I thought Sunoco sold out to Energy Transfer Partners or something like that.......They sold the terminal in Beaumont...but not the trucks?

That would work if someone joined with the intend of being completely anonymous, and used due diligence to actually STAY anonymous.

But RSQ Diver has talked about what yard he works out of, and even his start date. Plus, his screen name sounds like a hint of either a previous career, or volunteer work he does. It probably wouldn't be difficult at all to figure out his identity if you worked with him, and especially if you hired him. Being identifiable might even be how he learned of the company's social media rules...

But I would hope the company wouldn't ding him for what he has done up to this point. From what I have read, he has been good PR for them. Even if he has mentioned something not so rosey (which I am not even aware that he has), we are all adults here... Of course every company has a policy or procedure that someone won't agree with, or like.

For instance, now I don't like their social media policy. LoL. But it wouldn't stop me from wanting to work for them. And that is strictly because of what I have seen their drivers post about the company here on TTR. Being an oilfield outsider, Sunoco would just be another oilfield company among the other hundreds of oilfield companies if I was looking to hire on somewhere.

From what I have seen on TTR, they have gained several valuable employees from the postings and threads I have read here. In my opinion, Sunoco should relax their social media policy because the attention they get here is pretty positive.

Its called the Streisand effect. By pointing it out you are actually giving it more attention than if you were to leave it alone.

Interesting.....I wonder if Sunoco is on to him or if he only suspects a clandestine operation is a foot. Of course you know, if they got him on a social media violation then they are probably in his cell phone too.......listening to every call, watching every txt.

It's possible they've already conducted a complete analysis of the mud on his tractor floor or taped his cb conversations.......

    Its crude....but accurate. ( pun intended )
