I was going to cdl school but it's too much $10,000 for 13 weeks:biggrin_25513:. So I wanna know if I can get hired with a permit if I passed the written test. Or will some companies hire u and train you their selves.

Holy crap, $10K for CDL school?? I was upset when I had to pay $5K. To answer your question, some of the Key Energy and Nabors yards will hire people with a permit and train them. I only know of it occurring in the Permian Basin where it's easier for newbies to get hired.

Yes that's slot for school and it's 20 weeks long. I can get my permit that's no problem just want a Job other than Precious. I live in Shreveport Louisiana so tx is my second home. Will I have to apply online?

I paid $3,300 cash for a 160 hour school....4 weeks full time! $10K is WAY expensive.

Both companies have an online app, but it might be in your best interest to visit some yards in person and speak with the yard manager. Obviously they'd rather hire someone already with a CDL, so some face time and a good impression might help your cause.

Most of my class paid with grants or other. I was a cash payer because I didn't qualify for any of the help. If you do qualify for some assistance, by all means use it to improve you situation. Jdotson, we've all paid into the system, you might as well get some benefit.
