I was going to cdl school but it's too much $10,000 for 13 weeks. So I wanna know if I can get hired with a permit if I passed the written test. Or will some companies hire u and train you their selves.
any companies hiring in oilfield if you have no cdl or just permit

Holy crap, $10K for CDL school?? I was upset when I had to pay $5K. To answer your question, some of the Key Energy and Nabors yards will hire people with a permit and train them. I only know of it occurring in the Permian Basin where it's easier for newbies to get hired.
rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -
Yes that's slot for school and it's 20 weeks long. I can get my permit that's no problem just want a Job other than Precious. I live in Shreveport Louisiana so tx is my second home. Will I have to apply online?

I paid $3,300 cash for a 160 hour school....4 weeks full time! $10K is WAY expensive.

Also check to see if your area has any grants available....everyone in my class...12 of 13 got the whole course covered by grants ....I was the idiot that paid cash.
