Get online also and learn/memorize the pre-trip, which (in all states, I believe) is about 1/3 of your test. Driving is 1/3, and parking/maneuverability is 1/3 (at least this applied when I got my CDL in mid 2000's). Take some of the many online CDL practice tests out there. Get the NY commercial driver's license handbook at your local DMV and read it all - all of the questions you face will be in that manual in one form or other. Try to get your Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements (tanker isn't difficult, Haz requires a little more study but well worth it).

Being from Ohio, the OPs referencing OH and PA work are correct. Check out these cities for either fracking or frack-related activity: Canton, OH; Youngstown, OH; Cambridge, OH; Cadiz, OH; Charleroi, PA; Wheeling, WV; East Liverpool, OH; Marietta, OH.

I slept in my truck for awhile until i saved up for an rv. Sign up for a 24hr gym membership somewhere so you can have a shower. If your credit is shot there are plenty of those buy here pay here rv places like archerrv. Save up a couple grand and give them a call. Rv slots are plentiful now.

I'm curious about weatherford. I see them in a lot of ads. Curious how they are to work for. There are some non-driving jobs there that might interest me. They appear to be into just about everything oilfield related.
