I'm in the process of looking for an oil filed job. I just been in CDL school for a week and have 3 weeks to go. I live about 4-5 hours away from midland area. I'm already doing my research on the oil fields in Texas, but it been hard looking for a company with a man camp. I was in the military for 8 years so I know that I can live in a man camp. I am looking for something that does 14 days and 5 days or something close to that, so I could drive back to the family. I was wondering if anybody would tell me which companies have man camps in Texas. Thank you

Halliburton has one for drivers and operators of cement pump equpment. A lot of the Vac truck companies have trailers for their drivers.

Schnieder had one for a little while as I recall, but it was only for their Midland/Odessa facilities- it's likely changed by now, since the west Texas oil boom has died down a bit over the past 8-ish months from what I'm made to understand, by the drivers out that way.

You could always check up in the Bakken, but it'll swing down as well in the next half decade.
Then there's the fact, that you've got to be slightly insane to actually work the Bakken; but hey, that's where the money is.

Pumpco, cj, trican, cal frac, weatherford all have mancamps along with lots of other companies in tx. It's gonna be easier to find an employer with man camps if your willing to do more than drive.

I think he was talking in reference to a frac crew where one doesnt just drive but works with heavy equipment mostly. A CDL is usually required for such positions as they require moving the frac equipment between jobsites as well.
