REALLY? I see the exact opposite! Sunoco hires LOTS of recent grads and even have a special program for them to join the company.

Yes, Day one on the job with Sunoco ...straight out of school you will haul crude.

    ChrisDHeye and drivinman Thank this.

Why is it that no matter what forum someone is on there are always people with raging hard-ons just waiting to prove someone wrong. They always do it in a ####ish way too. With that said, have fun in the "special program" the oil company has for new drivers fresh out of school.

Awesome Cyborg! Thanks so much for the input.

Do you have a recruiter number for Sunoco?
If anyone does, PM it to me please. Thanks

Sorry again, dont mean to hijack the post.

Haystak88, I do not understand the raging hard-on comment. Maybe it is not all the 'people' who are the issue. I did not see anywhere in the comment from Cyborg where he was primarily motivated to prove you wrong. I interpreted as just him stating his observations. His intention may have been to help, not necessarily prove anyone wrong.

    ####ish way? I just don't see that.

Just saying...try not to take this as me trying to prove you wrong. I am only commenting to participate.

Again, apply online and if they are interested, they will call you. The recruiter who responded to me hasn't been much of a help. After talking about Sunoco with you all last night I emailed her to get a status update and haven't received a response yet. She initially did a basic interview and gave me a list of areas hiring, asked me where I'd prefer and was supposed to get back with me. That was early last week. The problem I've found was no housing seemed to be offered. There were three or four yards in Texas, and roughly ten in Oklahoma that had openings. I don't know. It sounds like you can make good money there, but the places being offered in Texas are way out there. It's bad enough working here in Kenedy, but at least San Antonio is only an hour drive. I'm sure the benefits are great and equipment is well taken care of. Also .50 a mile and .23? cents a barrel adds up fast. Sounds like a good deal to me.

    Haystack88,

    Great info.

How long ago was it when you last spoke to the recruiter?

Be patient! Ashley is gone and they're short-handed.

    ...Was that too ####ish too?

I'm already working boss, I have all the time in the world. Still not convinced I want to go where they needed people either. No housing will require high rent from what I hear out that way. I dunno.
