My friend worked for Nuverra in North Dakota, was paid by load, on his worst day he would make $250 [not often] averaged 300-500 a day, and every now and then got really good days of 600-800. This was in early 2013, things mightve changed. He was happy with the job but not happy about living in Williston so he left to go back home. They've merged with companies and other things have changed so I don't know if theyre by load or hourly now.

He worked 5 days on 1 day off, with the option to take every fourth week off but they also let him keep driving which he did. They had medical benefits.

PTT (Premier) unloads at some of the same disposals we do. Alot of their equipment looks pretty rough.

I was hired by PTT (Premier) and showed up in Karnes City, TX from Florida and knew I made a mistake before my feet even touched the dirt. Horrible equipment, horrible management...I was told by some of the guys they were making money, but I opted out. I used their housing for two nights and quit. For someone looking to get into the oilfield and needing housing it may be an option. If your looking to start hauling water go with a company like Nabors. Biggest and best in my opinion. If you have experience and are going to haul crude, again, go with Nabors, Plains Marketing, Sunoco Logistics Dillon, or South C&C. I've been around a while and asked a lot of questions. Of course these statements are just my opinion. Oh, if your looking for a specialty company, look up K-3 BMI, hauling oil based mud quite a bit, servicing the rigs. West Texas is going crazy right now in the Barnhart area. No housing though, but it's the newest boom. I'm in South Texas, in the EagleFord area. Hope some of this helps.

Pel-State is ok I hear. Boring work though. All you will do is fill up frac equipment in-between wireline. So in 12 hours you may fill equipment maybe four times. The rest of the time you will sit in your truck. Pay is said to be between $20-$22, which is good for what your doing. Also, consider this; you will be traveling. On a location till it's complete, then move on to another site. Not sure if they offer per diem. I know companies like Thomas Petroleum who do the same work do.

    Hey guys,
I am new to the site but have been reading it over now for 6 months+.

Dont mean to hijack your thread Korky, but just wanted to ring in.

I have been inspired to become a crude hauler as a Career.

Currently in an accredited School learning to drive. It is coming along very good.

Anyway, I am in Central Texas right now. I am looking to work local routes hauling crude.

Korky, I have never heard of the companies you listed.

Now, with that said...I have heard of Nabors and Sunoco.

Are you wanting to haul crude? Work frac? Haul sand? Water?

There is a guy named Arky who made a post a few months back concerning Sunoco.

You can find his threads by just doing a search.

    Haystak88...
Would you happen to have a number for a recuiter to Sunoco in Dillon?

If so, could you PM me the contact info?

Would you have any words of advise for me as to which direction I should head after school?

Hey Chris, I made a typo...Those are two different companies, Sunoco and Dillon. Sunoco is kinda top of the food chain, along with Plains Marketing. No offense, but they would never hire a recent grad. Stranger things have happened I suppose, but I wouldn't count on it. Also, as a recent grad, I wouldn't plan on hauling crude. It has been MY experience, that most new drivers, if hired, start off hauling water. Don't let that discourage you though, there's tons of money to be made hauling water, plus it's simple. When I hauled water for Nabors I had a two week check, after taxes of $2,905. That's after taxes, in my pocket. To me, that's great money. Not every check was like that, I believe I had 146 hours on that check. I'd say an average though of about $2,000 every two weeks, after taxes, in my pocket. After reading this board for six months I'm sure you've heard it all. For me, I speak the truth and only comment when I know something, from personal experience, or what I've seen. Go back and read my posts and see what I mean. Anyway, I'd say after hauling water for 6 months you should be able to switch over to crude. That's how Nabors does it. There are tons of companies here, including a ton of mom and pop outfits. You may find one of then who will give you a shot. Usually older equipment, but typically pay well. You can usually find their ads on craigslist. I actually just got back out here last week after taking a few months off. I'll admit I missed it, especially the $$$. Good luck boss. You seem to have a positive attitude, and that's most important.

I am not so sure about this but maybe you are right.

I have seen others post on this site stating this is true. Sunoco hiring right out of school with zero experience. Would be nice to speak with a recruiter.

    Hauling water eh?

    Does not sound so bad.

Know of any companies who can get me 60-75 hours per week and home every night?

I am ready to go anywhere just as soon as I finish the schooling.

Well, again, I go by what I was told. I mean Sunoco is the oil company. It's worth a shot. Put your app in online and they will contact you if interested.

The "water hauling" I mention does not refer to Sunoco. Do you know of any Water Companies that are good to work for?
