Wow, that's a low %. Around here you start at 25% and go up from there.

When I'm training I get asked about %'s a lot. My answer is it's not relevant. ..All that matters to me is how much goes in the bank. I'm making $2-2,500 a week, with no housing costs. I'm not running super hard, 10-14 loads a week, and I'm happy with that. Some guys run harder. Some less. Gotta find the place where you fit in.

Experience: Generally yes but I have seen exceptions.
    Usually military experience,
but one was a farm kid that grew up driving.
If you want a more specific answer, PM me.

All Military - but specifically combat and combat arms counts HUGE here.

"How is Brady trucking?" It's a trucking company maybe better than most, good equipment, repairs get done and tires get replaced without argument. You ask for something ( a microwave, gloves or PPE.,) It gets done. Dispatchers are still dispatchers, loads usually fire up right when your planning something fun. The roads here suck plus This ain't a 8-5 job and Your expected to keep your truck and trailer reasonably clean. Most of the guys are pretty cool but we have a couple #####. It's a trucking company.

-new guy, you are in that slope nose and old trl.
-3 months ...2-3 yr old large car
    -1 yr... newer long nose
-3 yrs, and what color do you want your new trk?

Sounds like a company worth waiting for (getting some experience first)!

We lived in Farmington NM four years ago and now live in Vernal. My husband is a water hauler here. We really miss Farmington, can you tell us anything about working for Brady trucking there? Conditions, hours, pay, benefits?

Brady is HQ'd in Vernal so he could go visit their office and find out firsthand. I visited the Williston yard and was impressed by the office mngr., Op. Mngr, receptionist and the whole
    facility.

May I ask what are the things you liked about living in Farmington, NM.?
    thanks

I've seen a few Brady Trucking FRAC sand trucks. Haven't heard anything bad about them

I haven't read the whole thread but I'll tell you what I know about the North Dakota operation.

Located in Williston, big plus, as opposed to a smaller town farther from Walmart, gyms, etc
Live in truck saves rent money, very nice common area for the drivers to share. I used to work for Tutle and Tutle (sand haulers) and their drivers area consists of four kitchen chairs in a shop in Minot which is too far from most of the action.
    Nice, newer trucks with APUs.
I was told you get to determine your off time (like an oilfield rotation, going home for a week or so)

On the other hand, I did see them doing a job out on BIA 14 recently. When my company tried to do work out there we had a revolt.

I passed the physical with Brady. Passed the drug test. Then, they wanted me to do this stupid test where you squat down for 5 minutes and work a nut and bolt over your head. The fat physical therapist told me what to do but couldn't or wouldn't demonstrate it. I did it for about a minute and my legs were burning and I quit. Now, I'm 40 pounds over weight, but I run three miles in about 30 minutes- that is, I can and do run three miles... And, lift when I can which isn't often based on a sand hauling work schedule. I don't smoke. Plus, I already had 10 months of sand hauling experience so being able to do the job physically wasn't an issue.

I got tired of waiting for them to tell me what they were going to do with me so I went out and had some lunch. Now, both Brady and the clinic had my phone number. I got back to the clinic and waited some more and finally called Brady to ask what they were going to do with me. I was told because I left the decision had been made that they couldn't hire me- so, now I'm in high school again?

Anyway, that's my rant. Too bad, looked like a good set up except for the BIA 14 part. But, as I type, I'm in my man camp where I work for the competition.

There's a lot of stupidity out here in the oilfield. Brady might work out for you better than it did for me.
