I ran BIA 14 a lot when I came up here last year, I thought this is just what North Dakota is. Well, it's not, BIA 14 is BIA 14. See, they want you to do it for the same mileage pay as other loads, they don't pay a premium for you to drive that distance at 15 or 20 mph with your bones jarring the whole way. And if you have to chain up, or if traffic gets backed up in each direction...
In our case, it was to be a 70 mile deadhead to Newtown, and it's backed up construction there, 58 loaded miles over BIA 14 and artillery-shell-pock-marked BIA 12, then a 100 mile deadhead back to the terminal- an all around crummy deal for drivers on percentage. Put some money on the BIA 14 loads, make me $$$want$$$ to go out there, OK then, I can do it. But, they don't. They want you to do it on the cheap. I've hardly run it at all this year.
On the second point, my experience is limited. It does, however, seem there is a lack of management and administrative talent in the oilfield. Companies have holes to fill and they don't have the pool of workers to draw from like they do lined up for jobs elsewhere around the country. Things I see, you just want to shake your head. We could do a whole thread about this topic, I'd like to hear what others have to say.

We really liked the people the most. As we got used to the area we liked what there was to do. I know Brady is headquartered here. Just thought it would be interesting to hear gtom someone "in the trenches" there.
