Houston area oil jobs

Hey take it easy. I was born and raised in Detroit. It is not a dunghole. It's a good place where a lot of good people are struggling to survive right now.

I wouldn't trade one minute of all the time I spent there for anywhere else, even though I don't live there anymore.

 

It is entirely relevant for someone without experience in the oilfield. Areas with more population and better infrastructure and less jobs in the field can be more selective with their requirements. That isn't to say you can't get hired but his question was "will any of these hire newbies? Or is that a better possibility in Midland/Odessa area?"

Yes, it is easier for a newbie to get hired in the Permian Basin. Hell, I got hired over the phone without even a real interview.

 

I agree with this, but both Houston and the industry are so big right now that I don't think it would be very hard at all. You might have to drop apps for a few days, as opposed to one day for Midessa, but even a new driver could find work in Houston. There's just too much need.

Disclaimer: You need to get in their faces. On line apps won't get you anywhere.

 

Nothing left to take it easy on. All been abandoned , burned, stolen, bull dozed. But a good man can still find some job there if he has it in his mind to do so. Too many handouts and freebies greedy union and city, state leaders turned most of those into losers.
