It took 200 applications to get a job offer? -
It took a lot I know that

Interesting. I have been seeing people on this forum in general having a harder and harder time getting a job. I still hear about every company hiring, but apparently they aren't in such a big hurry to fill the positions.
One of your statements has me believing you were applying in person. I thought that was the icing on the cake for landing a job in the field easily.
btw, I wasn't calling you out on whether you literally filled out 200 applications. I guess I should have asked if it took all those applications to land any job, or land a job with a company you liked.
Job interviews are a two way street. -
I had applied for probably around 400 jobs mostly online, but also about 20 in person before I landed with big red and the only reason I got in with them was because a friend of mine worked there and got me an interview. I ended up getting a great job as an entry level person on a cement crew and the hr told me that they had received over 1000 applicants for my position. The jobs are out there, but there are also tons of people looking for those same jobs so it could take a bit of leg work. By the same token a lot of people in my training classes were hired on the spot at job fairs and such so a little luck and the right timing has a bit to do with it as well because I had gone to some job fairs before and didn't get any bites. I attribute my having a bit of a hard time landing something to not having any kind of manual labor or truck driving experience although I did go to cdl school which really helped me land in cement which from what I understand is a better paying easier job than frac.

Well just finished first job went out thurs night at 1130 got back home yesterday 1300. Man that iron lol. Well I had the rest of the day off yesterday and got good rest now I'm at home didn't want to go to the yard today. But I'm on call for my 21 days for my rotation. Loved it though. But any of u guys got any tips for always being on call? I sleep heavy lol and last thing I want is to miss a call. But so far loving the experience. Should I take naps regularly throughout the day to always be rested because were at the mercy of when the rigs need to be cemented down hole
