Well looks like a dry hole on this one! Sold my small construction company, but still have a winch tractor and a couple of trailers. Just thinking!

I have been in ND for over two years and have not seen an O/O winch truck. Most of the companies that I have come in contact have there own winch trucks and drivers that do other jobs when winching is not needed. (haul water or help in the shop). The guys I was working with before were getting paid 34.00+/hour, even on standby.

    Wymon Thanks this.

Yea the problem there could be staying busy. If you could get work with company that has enough tanks to keep you busy they will likely need way more trucks than just you when it comes time to move them.

    Wymon Thanks this.

Thanks guys-Actually my job in SE Montana/NE Wyoming is pretty much like what Mike described-winch/vac/heavy haul-fill in as field mechanic with my own service truck-operate heavy equipment also. I have seen some winch trucks in Texas and New Mexico that LOOKED like they might be O/O's, but as you say-not many up here.

    Thanks again and be safe!
