I know the schedule is crazy for a pump operator. Early mornings, late nights. Spending much of your day outside in the heat/cold. That's why I prefer driving a mixer. I dump off my load and leave while they stand outside operating the pump. As far as pay, it depends on the company and area. Some companies are hourly, some salary.

With what company

I drive a mixer for Martin Marietta in Little Rock, but the big pump companies around are Harris, Harris & Harris (not sure if any relation) and Brundage and Bone. I know Harris' guys are on salary but I think the others are both hourly.security58 Thanks this. -
