Was just hired today by Nuverra up in the great white North (okay maybe not so great). I haven't heard a lot about them, just a few comments here and there. Does anyone actually work for them on these boards and can tell me how they operate and if they like them or not? It would be a great help. Thanks!

Mrs. Stryker here. My husband works for them in Tioga and thinks it's one of the best out there. He was referred by a friend of ours who worked for a couple other companies first and says this one is definitely one of the better ones.

Thanks so much for the replies! I was starting to wonder if anyone worked for them.... This will be my first time in the oilfields and I have really done a lot of research on a lot of different companies. I know you kind of have to go up to North Dakota with an open mind, but I did want to work for a good company to start with. I've heard nothing but good things about them and this only cements in my mind that I made the right decision. Thanks again!

Applied with nuverra today in Dickinson. Have worked here for almost 20 months hauling water/flowback/production with an MBI contractor. Liked my company but can't take MBI anymore. Are they hiring lots of people now? When you start can you choose what job you would like? I enjoy night production work best. I heard housing was nice but expensive.

Nuverra is the new public name for Badlands Power Fuels. Search "Power Fuels" and you will find more posts. I have worked as a water hauler since 2011. Hiring now depends upon the current office needs (try Watford City who seems to hire the most employees). Production work is favored so you will probably have to start in another area and wait for some seniority. It is relatively easy to get night shift work and it pays $5 hour more. Nuverra has some newer company apartments in certain locations but it will probably cost you $1300+ monthly plus utilities. Overall, PF has been a good employer but some offices are better than others. We do have slow periods but I have earned about $100,000 annually (with some time off). Nuverra wants experienced drivers so if you just got your CDL you need to get some experience first before applying. Good luck.

Nuverra also acquired HWR at some point, though around here they're still operating as HWR. They do not exactly have a good reputation hereabouts, mostly due to stupid mistakes (spills, driving away with hoses still connected, and other nonsense).
