That's not a hot air blower that's a fluid pump and will not work at all for pulling a dry bulk pnuematic. It looks like an old roper pump to me.

yeah after i posted this thread i dug a little further into google images and i found it and it is indeed a roper pump... so needless to say either i spend $5,000 swapping it for a hot air blower or i look for a cheaper truck that will work out and has a pto and have the correct blower instaled

Glad you figured it out before dropping the money. You don't necessarily need a 12 inch blower to haul sand I run a fleet of trucks with 9 inch gardener Denver's and they offload sand just fine. Where are you going to be hauling sand? Do you have a trailer or are you renting one from a company??

ill be leasing on to a company out of texas and depending on how hard it is to find a trailer to buy ill be renting on of theirs or from a rental company out of PA where ill be running most of the time, and yeah i know a 9 will work also but ive gotten use to the 12 that im using on the truck i have now as a company driver, but im starting out with a bank loan so im trying to devide that up the right way so i was hoping to find an ok used truck with a blower on it without spending 10k on having a pto and blower instaled into a truck without it... still thinking that i may get that truck and have them swap blowers on it and if the sand buisness every drops out in my area then i could run bulk liquid since ill already have the pump to swap out with.... that could get pricey tho so im not sure what my best route would be untill i get my options narrowed down more and get a decent quote for a pto and blower instal

I have seen blowers that are powered by the truck exhaust. That would have to be cheaper than a pto powered blower.

They do not work at all and the frac companies won't allow them because of possible contamination of the sand.

I have seen them work when I was hauling cement dust. The contamination part may be true but it doesn't make any sense. The exhaust is a by product of what they are getting out of the ground.

A load of specialized epoxy sand can cost upwards of $50k. They don't allow exhaust systems. I had a load of 40/70 one time heading to Mentone TX . Got call around Big Spring to climb up and check it. Sure enough there were a few specs of 16/30 {a very large grain sand as far as fracing goes}. Probably about 10 shovel fulls in a 47000 lb load. Had me sit while they decided where to use it.

Could you just leave the roper pump right on there and also install your blower system instead of swapping.
