what oilfield companys are hiring?

All I recommend going with q big company like nabors or basic because they haul water. have kill trucks hot oilers. Maybe even chemical trucks also winch trucks. It gives you a wide variety. See which direction you want to go from there

 

I don't know your route, but we happened to travel through Midland/Odessa a lot when he was driving OTR. We had seen the signs and I got on the 'puter and looked the companies up ( the ones that actually have web-sites).

I did more research and on the way to this area. I filled out applications for him ( I write faster and neater) while he B.S'd with drivers or who ever was around ( asking how the company was). When we got to Weatherford we stopped at one company with a sign out, the man said he just hired the last person he needed, but he thought the company up the road might need people. Stopped in their and he was basically hired before I had even filled out the app all the way. Put our some of our stuff in the Travel trailer that was to become our home since then...lol. The beat us here, but only because we stopped to eat and they didn't.

OKC to Garden City in 2 days and a bunch of applications later, well really Weatherford. What I'm saying is, as you are driving through "oil country" remember what you are seeing, stop and talk to some of the "local's" at the Truck stops. ( when you stop for the night).

Seriously you could pick a spot and just go their and start filling out app's.... But large companies on web-sites... Nabor's, FFE ( not my choice) Rockwater ( sand ), Schneider, BTT, ummm J.B. Hunt has a flatbed's out here. Sunocco, It's early and I haven't had enough caffine...that's all I can think of atm.

 

Craigslist has always been my way to look. I figure if the company has someone smart enough to know how to post on Craigslist that gives them a plus 1 for me

 

where do you want to live? what kind of oilfield work do you want to do, Support, haul supplies in, haul production water out, haul crude out, be a fueler.... Do some research, go apply, and get hired... the oilfields are looking for help. Just do not expect it to last forever. The oilfields are a volatile market, and the work can and does disappear in a matter of weeks.

 

North dakota is going to be around for quite a while. The money being spent on infrastructure and facilities is amazing. Trillions are being spent developing the area, I highly doubt companies would spent that type of money on a 10 year boom. 12000 wells completed goal of 75000 and can only drill 2000 a year...

 

I don't know one way or another if the booms in ND and TX will be long lasting, but it should be mentioned that much of the money being spent on infrastructure is not private business putting their own money on the line. The greatest portion of this money is invested by public companies where money is raised by selling bonds and stock offerings. I'm sure many of these CEOs and BoDs do not want to see the business they represent go under with bond and stockholders being wiped out, but like all of the wallstreet crowd their main worry is that they are raking in the dough while the opportunity exists, well being of the company be ######. There was a good article recently about this very matter (companies trying to plug budget shortfalls with even more issuance of debt), and for the life of me I can't think of where I had read it. Sorry for the slight derail, I'll post the article if I come across it.

you sound just like the guys before the last bust...

when we went from 2800 drilling rigs to 400, in just 14 months. currently only 1800 rigs working in the us... and only 170 of those are in North Dakota. On average it is taking 21 days to drill a horizontal well in North Dakota... And the state regulators, being pressured by the people of North Dakota, are getting tired of the continuous flares, since there is no infrastructure to move the gas to market.

Always keep in mind that the oil fields are a volatile market, and government regulations, could end the boom tomorrow.

Make the money while it is available, but don't spend it all, as it will bust again.

 

Back at the end of 08 , it seemed like it just vanished into thin air . I was on a drilling rig then , nowhere to work , nobody hiring
