I have a quick rookie question. Well I have been cementing for about 3 months now and we just switched over to the Keller oilfield logbooks. Does sleeper berth count against your time and does oilfield wellsite count against your time? And my last question is if I go off duty for 24 hrs does that mean I have a whole new 70 hours to work in 8 days? And I apologize if I'm asking the question in the wrong way or whatever.

Also all theirs DOT crap is retarded I really do believe that DOT doeznt even know their own rules. Its a bunch of crap. But anyways its part of our life.

The reason I'm asking is because I want to make sure I am always driving legal.

    Thx

Sleeper and off duty are the same.

Oilfield waiting time does not count towards either your on duty, or driving. Careful how you use this though.

It is different. That doesn't apply to us.

24 hour reset. That's it. Doesn't matter when.

    tangerineGT Thanks this.

To the OP, if you have a smart phone get the Big Road app. It helps tremendously.

    us_armyson562 and RocketmAAn Thank this.

If you're not driving vehicles specifically constructed for the industry, you may get pinged for using the oilfield rules. Around me, water and sand haulers got spanked for this regularly, as the vehicles can be used for something else outside the oil/gas industry.

The cementing rigs I've seen would be pretty industry specific, but just watch out for over zealous and under educated DOT officers.
