Big Duker when he goes to Weatherford and FTW will he be applying for frac jobs or fueling jobs. I thought companies didn't hire newbies to haul fuel?

Mostly frac or other services. Only fuel jobs he might not want. On jobsite pulling couple hundred ft of hose between stages and then sitting in truck another hour or two waiting to do it again. Most of the companies I saw doing this treated their drivers like dirt. Texas Pride Fuel out of Springtown was one of the worst. All businesses around oil work should be targets. Fuel, frac, wireline, cementing, pipe hauling, many others. Then everyone has to eat. Buy clothes, etc. May stumble onto something he/you never even considered that is wonderful. People have set up resale/consignment stores like most ladies are familiar with only twist is they are for FR clothing. Folks buy $75+ shirts and jeans gently used at big discount and owners make big money. Catering/food trucks. Wash/fold laundry services are in big demand. There are a thousand more. You guys may come up with some new ingenious idea or twist on existing one and get rich. Widen your horizons. The oil patch is great. But so are all the folks who help make it possible. Just like the military. Only a handful are outside the wire or the tip of the spear. But they need those left in the rear to keep them going. Good luck.

I found this info. on another post thought you may like it........here it is......

Need work? South Texas Oilfield hiring like crazy!
Hello! I don't come here very often, but I wanted to put a notice out there to anyone needing work or just looking for a change of scenery. I live in south Texas and the oilfield here has fired it's afterburners! Companies are hiring like mad, and in SOME cases will even train/ hire "under-qualified" drivers. The endorsments you need are HazMat and Tanker, and some (if not all) companies will pay for you to get/maintain your license.
I've been in the oilfield as a driver for about 5 years now, through ups and downs and right now it's so busy companies are desperate for drivers and/or equipment operators. I haul crude oil for Gulfmark Energy and I love it! The pay is great and the schedule is awesome.
Oilfield work typically pays above average and the schedule is different depending on who hires you and for what. Also, the rules of service are different than other trucking fields.
Before I let this go too long, I'll list some companies that I've seen in my area:
    CRUDE/ FUEL HAULERS:

    Gulfmark Energy

    Flint - http://www.flintenergy.com/

    Mission Petroleum - http://www.mipe.com/

    Plains - http://www.paalp.com/

    Arguindegui - http://www.aocpetroleum.com/index.html

    R.C.'s Jubilee - http://www.quicktransportsolutions.c...ot-1199717.php

VACUUM/ PRODUCTION (note: this is not easy work, but it's a good way to get experience and a foot in the door):

    Texas Energy - http://www.forbesenergyservices.com/

    Key Energy - http://www.keyenergy.com/

    Mo-Vac - http://www.mo-vac.com/

    C&J - http://www.cjenergy.com/

    Cudd - http://www.cuddpumping.com/

    Schulumberger - http://www.slb.com/

    Torqued-Up - http://www.torqued-up.com/

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, if you have any questions, I'll answer what I can. I've worked for Torqued-Up, Texas Energy, and now I work for Gulfmark, so I know a bit about production work, vacuum, and crude. I hope this helps some of you!

Thanks for your post bparsley1975. I'm heading to South Texas as soon as I can upgrade my CDL from a Class B to a Class A with all the endorsements. I currently have a Class A permit with Passenger, Tanker, Hazmat, and Doubles & Triples endorsements. I just have to take the California DMV driving test (Scheduled for Oct. 6th), shortly after which I will head down to South Texas and bang on some doors. In the meantime, I taking notes and compiling a list of doors to bang on. Your information is greatly appreciated.
