There's several places but not many good ones.
Westgate MHP= older place and they have some lots available but they're mixing RV's and Mobile homes together. I didn't want to go to the expense of setting in a MH and have something bad move in next to me. It costs about $5k for the connections. I think they're around 400/month

Stonegate MHP= brand new place and your home has to be brand new as well. Almost totally full now though. Solitaire here in Midland had the rights to a few spots last I heard. About 500/month

Glendale Meadows MHP= it's a nice place but out in Glendale. Older park and well maintained.....but it's out in Glendale! Not sure on price. There's not much around. No grocery stores and wally world is about 20 miles away. There's an OK older double wide for sale on 1.25 acres in Glendale for about 100K. The neighbors don't believe in picking up their trash though :(

    I didn't check Odessa.

I stopped looking at MH's and went 5th wheel. My employer is building a new yard and is putting in trailer spaces so I will probably move soon. I'm paying $500/month plus metered electric. It's one of the nicer parks around. I priced some dirt lot places and they're getting $750/month!!

I know everyone's situation is different but Id have all my ducks in a row with an X-amount of money saved up, a home already secured and a few job prospects lined up before I moved to Tx. It would be less stressful I think. Nothing wrong with going OTR to get experience first before heading to the oilfields, at least you can live in the truck, got to have an address to use though but that is easy if you can use a family members or a good friend's. I did otr for 4 yrs plus 9 years of military experience before getting retired for medical reasons before going into the oil and gas fields. I make 18 an hour driving a water bottle here in WV 60-70 hrs a week. Housing much cheaper as well. More bigger wells being drilled and it is going to be balls to wall soon here, of course you do have snow in the winter here as well as steep grades to drive up and down.
