Schneider came in with Sand and Crude Tankers and was pretty much run off, but they are making another try in Crude. Arnold sold most of themselves and are trying to establish a presence in the South Texas field pulling sand . Stevens is advertising like crazy for Sand and Vacuum Drivers around DFW and South Texas. Today, 8/21/14 is the first time ( and I keep abreast of it fairly often ) I've ever seen an ad from KLLM. Vacuum (water) in West Texas ( Odessa ). If you are a rookie and are absolutely determined that you want to work in the 'Patch, this is a possible way to start, but these companies are generally mistrusted because of their OTR reputations. If you have some experience Driving you would probably be better off working for some other Outfit, but there are exceptions since everyone's situation is different. http://www.simplyhired.com/job/driv...33jfx3zh?cid=perenlihnybiyvisqxenprmqftqbidkr

I saw a Schneider oil truck at a well site tonight. I was kind of like WTF? Thought they bailed out of the oil fields.

You just answered your own question, AT. This thread is for spreading knowledge, not so much your personal opinions. Over in another thread about Autonomous driving trucks ( self driving trucks ) a few minutes ago you spouted off that " Self-driving trucks won't be able to operate with the consistent precision required of human drivers without massive infrastructure outlays that would standardize yards, highways, roads, intersections, and all that jazz. " .........Oh really ?????? while I'm no expert in that field I can assure you that there is NO need to "standardize yards, highways " etc. One of the definitions of encroaching is " To advance beyond proper or former limits. " So since these companies have had former limits of On Highway operations, they are without a doubt meeting the very definition of encroaching. I noticed you disrespected a long time, well respected member here the other day and got told you should have some more respect. I agree. By the way, don't call me "son" sonny. Do you really have under a year Driving ? You might be better served reading and learning rather than trying too hard to contribute the limited amount of knowledge you seem to possess. Have a nice day.

Most of the otr I see on the well sites are sand cans. There is a lot of money in the oil and gas fields to be made and the otr companies are trying to buy in and increase their bottom line. I wouldn't blame other companies trying to run them off given that some of the big otr companies reps are very low, plus it is a whole different breed of men and women working the oil and gas fields and they will harass you to see if you can take it.
