Well I feel I have enough experience to run my own truck but I need help finding out where I find info on all the permits needed to be an O/O Crude hauler..I plan on either leasing a DOT compliance tanker or running for a company that has trailers to lease..HELP :)

If you buy a truck the only thing you need to do is lease onto a company. They will supply the plates, IFTA, registration, insurance and everything else you need. It's the easiest way to get going. Buy the truck and get bobtail insurance and a temporary plate to get the truck home then the company you lease onto will take care of everything else.

Yeah rent a tank. I haul fuel and we have hundreds of OOs. But all tanks have to be company owned. So many different tests required at different intervals and the liability. All testing is done in house in DFW, OK City, and maybe Houston. Lots of the guys have the cash to buy but the company says no and has for yrs. And tankers are expensive as heck. Our lightweight aluminum 9500 gallon ones run $95K + .

I'm hoping to stay in the area I'm at now...I'm pretty much settled with my horses & not interested in moving just to run my own truck I just have to do more research on what Co. run O/O & what they offer contract wise...Nabors only hauls Conoco but as of yet they don't contract O/O :(
