Hey guys, got an offer letter this morning for coil @ PNR. Rate, benefits are solid, but anybody know what hours they're making right now or know anyone who works there? Any useful info greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I know they make good money. But they only wanted experienced people in south Texas.

They are THE premier driller in TX at this time. Not as big as some but have had amazing success rate compared to the big boys like Conoco and others. Would jump on any offer. The hours should be there. As always save save save for the inevitable down times.

Pioneer pays well hourly but from what I've heard the hours aren't there. Being an actual oil company safety is a huge priority for them. Most guys I know who've fraced with them say 60 and 70 hour weeks are the norm. If the hourly pay is good enough I would go for it but I wouldn't expect any 200 hr paychecks.

Pioneer also has good benefits. Matching $2 for your $1 in 401 up to 5%. Very good now days. Coiled tubing is it's own animal. Never seen them shut down when called out. They always worked till problem was fixed. Up to 3 days. Some frac jobs made us stop at dusk. Start at dawn. Mostly Compass Frac. But they change all the time. Not sure how each company pays.

Overall, it's a solid offer. Big Duker is spot on about all the benefits. There's also a yearly bonus, which is a percentage of the salary. I'm going for it, and I'll brace myself for 60 hr weeks for 6 months or so, which is usually when I re-evaluate my next step. Thanks guys.
