Congrats! Watch out in Big Lake, the po-po's have a station there and they're plenty thick in that area
Rankin has a couple of RV parks. I saw a sign for one south of the railroad tracks but haven't actually seen it. There's also one just west of town on the cut off to Crane on 329. Our field supervisor just bought a house there. He got a great deal on it. I'm sure Big Lake will have an RV spot come up soon. Just keep in touch with the park mgr. and let them know how serious you are about needing a spot. That's how I got mine in Midland just one mile from my work. People move suddenly so you never know. Good luck to you both!

Thanks Joe! We drove by the one just south of the RR tracks. It looked like they had a few open and there is one further on the west side of town right on the highway that had some open spaces. I think it was Champion RV? We did talk to one RV park in Big Lake, down by the High School, and she is full. She doesn't do a waiting list, but she said that we can call every day to see if something is open. I am hoping that we can find something there in Big Lake within a month or so. We will just have to keep in contact with her. Looks like you lucked out with a spot that close to work. Nice!!

do they hire new drivers fresh out of cdl school ?

I worked with EOG IN Barnheart all last year we had at least 3 ice storms there, not many places to eat. We stayed in San Anglo hotels at around $ 150 per night .

I know they are short on drivers. He said their pay structure was $16, $18 then $20 when starting out. I think $16 is no experience, $18 is either driving/or oil field experience and $20 is driving AND vac experience. I can't say for sure if they do or don't hire with no driving experience, but it wouldn't hurt to give them a call and ask.

I worked for nabors in ozona. It was slow there and since big lake didn't have enough drivers, we would go there for work. Nabors is a good company to work for, but pay was low. Since I had no experience other than a cdl, I spent 3 months training and only making 40 hours a week. When I questioned it, they said it was corporate policy, but after talking to drivers from other yards, I found out, each yard does its own thing when it comes to training. That is other than the training in San Angelo.

I had heard from several people that starting pay with them was $15.50 so I was pleasantly surprised when they offered $18.00 to us with our driving experience. They need drivers, like everyone else, so you may as well reapply unless you find someone offering better pay. The manager down there is really nice and is bending over backwards for us in the sense of trying to get our paperwork and other stuff done in or close to where we currently live to save us the hassle of driving back and forth the three hours to Big Lake or San Angelo to do the stuff. Physical, drug test, etc.

Take a look at frac sand instead of water. Pays a lot better and the work is easier.
