Question for any Nabors drivers here. We (my husband and I) both have an interview with Nabors on Wednesday for their Big Lake location driving a vac truck. I have read quite a bit on here about Nabors. They seem like a good company and I haven't heard any real negatives about them. Mainly I am hearing that they are a good starter company but the pay is kinda low. We will find out on Wednesday what they are offering for pay. I have read a few people stating $15.50 but others have said that starting pay can depend on the location.

My question is does anyone on here work out of the Big Lake yard? Or, if working for Nabors at another location, what kind of hours are you getting and how is the pay?

    Thanks!

You have an interview. Ask all the question you want. They are good company. That is one of the busiest areas in the world at this time. I would be asking how hard it will be to transfer to crude hauling after proving myself as a water wienie. 401k housing etc.

I am prrtty sure Big lake starts at 15.5 and goes to 17 after probation.

Guys in big spring are getting 60 hours a week and big lake actually has business so the hours should be fine.

Thing with Nabors is that while you are training the hours are pretty much guaranteed... once you are on your own though it can be pretty slow if the yard is not busy

Things are pretty busy lately around big lake , so you should be able to get the 'hours' without too much problems.
The hourly is low sure BUT insurance is good and the overtime is what makes the paycheck.

oh and another thing, their hiring process is quite... LONG .. so dont hesitate to ask the manager about it, and press him to get started asap. so he can push HR on his side

Thanks for all the info so far! When you say the process is long, what is your idea of long? A couple of weeks? A month? Thanks!!

It is not uncommon for some of these oilfield companies to take a month or even more.

Well after the interview , you ll get the drug test, and then they ll give you the contacts and stuff for the physical (at West Texas Rehab in San Angelo - if they didn't change). Top of that they ll do the background check and stuff . Once they got the Ok from the HR in Houston they ll more than likely send you to their 'training school' here in San Angelo. so yeah about 2/3 weeks sometimes
Not much is in the hand of the manager , just keep bugging em after the interview, and keep your horizon open, there is plenty other yards in Big Lake recruiting, just between the Pilot and the end of town I know of at least 4 ;)

Thanks! While we are down there, we will definitely check out some other places. No since in driving down there and not making the most out of the trip. Out of those 4 that you know of that are hiring, do you have any first hand knowledge about them or know anyone that works for them? Any place particularly good or should we stay away from any of them?
