Hi I'm thinking of switching jobs currently I'm a equipment operator for a fracing company money good but my aging body can't handle this type of work anymore. I've talked to a few guys from different sand companies, the first company I'm thinking about going to is Louisiana transport inc, and chalk mountain. Anyone have any pros and cons of each company?

Chalk mountain does a lot of drop & hook. They go to well sites as well but a lot of drop & hook. They don't pay a percentage of the gross to the driver, unlike your other major Frac sand companies. I've heard many good things about the company. Regardless where you reside, they will force you to transfer your cdl to Texas. Do a search on them here on the forum, you should find some other threads on them.

I ‘ve been in trucking for 12years and in the Frac Sand businessfor the last 7 years hauling in South TX, East TX, Oklahoma and New Mexico andhas made pretty good money. I’ve been leased to a company making 80% and theytaking 20%. We have hauled Frac Sand in South Tx, New Mexico, N. Dakota, OK andPennsylvania. I think it’s about time for me to get my own direct contract.I’ve saved up a pretty good some of money over the 7 years plus have anexcellent line of credit and I have 4 trucks with my own equipment. I have acouple of questions I would like to ask.
    1) Do anyone know of any other companies other thanHalliburton I can get my own contract with?

    2) I was told that detention bill is up to $85.00per hour but Halliburton only pays $55.00 per hour.

    3) Is it possible to contract with more than onecompany at time?

    4) What’s the minimum amount of trucks I may needto my own contract? ( I have the ability to get four more trucks and businesspartners that makes the total 15 to 20)

    5) What’s the minimum insurance requirement I willhave to have to get my own direct contract?

Resources is a decent company to haul sand for. My dad is a driver for them in the North east. 20.75 for day drivers 21.75 for nights I'm sure down south the pay will be more. They get load bonus' instead of OT. under 30mi is 40$ over 30mi is 60$ per load and average 2-4 loads depending on how close rig is. All said and done my dads averaging 350-400 a day without a penny invested, he gave up being o/o to do this, bout the same money without all the headaches of owing your own business.

There main yard is in tx i forget where ill ask my dad

Only drawback is no days off schedule till the frac is done. If you wanna work they have no probs with you doing 100+ hr weeks. They deff aren't strict with log books lol. my dads been averaging 90-100 hr weeks the past year and half. 100k is easily doable if you put the hrs in and they don't mind you taking a day off here and there to get some sleep. management is real relaxed. at my dads yard the drivers basically manage themselves

Cab Logistics has a yard just south of san antonio in von ormy. @ 1 mile past the loves thats on 35. hourly pay out to the well, 4 on 2 off.

Chalk Mountian has a yard somewhere around san antonio, of 37 i think. they are shuttling tons of sand from cleburne down there right now, like 60-80 trucks a day making that run, so they gotta be needed guys to take it out the well.

Spirit has a pretty big yard right off 410 in san antonio as well. Pretty sure Tuttle and Tuttle is looking for Texas otr guys as well. also there's Texas Chrome Trasnport.
