Got a question for the frac sand owner operators. What blower do you recommend between gardner denver, paragon, and tutthill and why do you recommend it. Thanks in advance.

Our company used Gardner Denver blowers for years with no real issues. We haul frac sand, cement and lime. The GD works well for our operation. But due to the increasing cost, the last two trucks they bought were equipped with tuthill blowers. I haven't used one yet, but I haven't heard anything negative about them. The only thing I've noticed is you run the engine at a higher speed when unloading with the tuthill, and they seem louder.

I'll be the third for a 12 inch Gardner Denver. I've ran tuthills, drums, and paragons and have had the best luck with the GD's.

My new one will be 10.5 inch GD. Will just have to idle a little higher than a 12in.

I didn't kno they made a 10.5" blower that's news to me. I run 9" and 12" and have good luck with them. The reason for the smaller size in my fleet is that I haul cement as well as sand and the 12's seem to put out too much air and makes my old cement trailers unload slower. I changed the piping on my personal trailer so it is 4 inch from the blower back to the product line but left the aerator line at 3 inch you want to talk about move some sand I can unload 48000 lbs of 20/40 resin in 28 minutes before it took about an hour and some change.

    bobthesailor Thanks this.

Get the GD,,engine RPM will depend on the PTO you use too,, remember it's not the PSI but the volume of air that counts,
